After walking 9 miles of the Ridgeway with friends children and dogs,we came apon the Parklands where we thought maybe we would be able to have warm drink and food. A Saturday afternoon in February It had been raining and sleeting for the walk so obviously we were all wet and muddy. We asked the girl if it was ok that we tied the dogs up outside and came in.Yes that's ok was the reply. We went in myself personally asking if she wanted us to take our boots off, no she replied. We order drinks while deciding on food.
Checking on the dogs a car pulled up with who I presume was the owner. She marched over to me saying I shouldn't use that door or be In the hotel with muddy boots, not listening to my explanation that we had confirmed it was ok with the girl.
VERY RUDE and UNWELCOMING lady. She march in to the back of the hotel clearly very annoyed and angry never to be seen again.
The board out side clearly saying walkers welcome, We left with out food.
I don't think they really want walkers in there especially during the winter months. WALKERS BE AWARE.
Prices are high, atmosphere bad, would never recommend or go back. Such a shame because a lovely location.
Pub up the hill very friendly and welcoming.
