My wife and I with our Grand daughter went to the Pizza Express in Marlborough on Saturday evening 18th August. We booked in advance on line, however when we arrived we saw it was not really necessary as there were many vacant tables. A good touch here is that we were able to go into the garden and dine al fresco with such lovely weather it would have been a shame to waste the evening in doors. For starters we ordered the new special Cole Slaw and the garlic bread with mozzarella cheese topping. I thought the cole slaw was excellent but my wife felt it was to sharp and too much vinegar. The garlic bread did not have even a touch of Garlic taste to it. Our grand daughter had the children's set menu and a starter of dough balls. We told the server that we did not think the Garlic bread had any garlic in it and there was no argument it was removed from the bill.
For Main Course our grand daughter had the children's Margherita and I chose the Da Morire Pizza which was Gorgonzola D.O.P, crispy pancetta, leeks, artichoke, mozarella, rosemary, chilli oil. and my wife chose the Gorgonzola & Pancetta Leggera a less calorie version of the Da Moire Pizza which had
Gorgonzola D.O.P, pancetta, leeks, light mozzarella, rosemary, chilli flakes. We both agreed that they were delicious and did not leave a crumb. Drinks we had were the Peroni beers for a hot thirst unfortunately not on draught and out of a bottle more expensive and less enjoyable in my view. For dessert we were too full but our grand daughter had the Strawberry ice cream with strawberries and sauce. All in all a very good meal with a couple of small issues. The service was good the facility clean and welcoming and being able to eat in the open air was a bonus.
