“Brilliant new gallery”

Second visit to this gem of a museum, first time since the opening of new gallery with loads of stuff relating to Stonehenge and the prehistoric landscape around it. Great fun day out, loads of activities for kids, and excellent gift shop too. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Surprisingly good accessibility as well, especially for such an old building. Some nice tea-shops round the corner too.

All in all - strongly recommended, especially if you're planning to visit Stonehenge or Avebury.

“A good afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014 via mobile

Plenty of good exhibits and even more interesting as most come from Wiltshire. Friendly staff. £4.95 admission is worth it and value for money.
The Iron age section could do with some brighter lights.

We have now been able to fix the lights in the Iron Age gallery. The gallery was opened in 1968 and to repair the lights we had to replace more than we expected and it was considerably more difficult that we expected.

I am sorry that the lights weren't all working when you visited.
