The plan of the museum appears daunting as exhibits are spread over two floors of three connected buildings but it was fun exiting a room, turning a corner and finding more treasures... Surprisingly for such a small museum, each room on each floor is fully accessible to wheelchair users. Also surprising were some of the find dates - much more recent than one would expect, artefacts are still being turned up and there is even an active metal-detecting club in the area. There is a case full of the club's less valuable finds to puzzle over.
Unfortunately, my visit was somewhat rushed this time so I could not do the collection justice - I would recommend allowing a couple of hours and making it a Family Outing as there really is something to engage the interest of all.
