The plan of the museum appears daunting as exhibits are spread over two floors of three connected buildings but it was fun exiting a room, turning a corner and finding more treasures... Surprisingly for such a small museum, each room on each floor is fully accessible to wheelchair users. Also surprising were some of the find dates - much more recent than one would expect, artefacts are still being turned up and there is even an active metal-detecting club in the area. There is a case full of the club's less valuable finds to puzzle over.
Unfortunately, my visit was somewhat rushed this time so I could not do the collection justice - I would recommend allowing a couple of hours and making it a Family Outing as there really is something to engage the interest of all.

Visiting for the first time today I was pleasantly surprised and most impressed. There really is something for everyone. The Bronze Age exhibits were fascinating and well-presented. And then there are the Neolithic and Roman galleries - again, splendid. For those interested in more recent events and local Devizes/Wiltshire history - you certainly won't be disappointed. There is a charge for admission, but they are a charitable concern with local history and it is well worth it. Parking can be tricky, but not a real problem. I had only three hours there and they were amply filled and I look forward to another visit. Thank you.

£5 each to get in - which we thought at first a little steep for small town museum - but we were pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see and learn about the local area. If you have kids with you there was lots of interactive things for them to do. Well worth an hour or so mooching round.

Thank you for your review, and I am glad that enjoyed your visit. Children are always free, and we charge simply because we get so little public funding.

Great collection of artifcacts from the Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Romans, Saxons, and more. Finds from Stonehenge are housed here and deserve a look.
