Stayed in Crudwell for a weekend away in the Cotswolds. This lovely pub became our local for the weekend and we visited three nights in a row. Two nights for drinks and one night for dinner. The staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome every evening. Some nice local ales on tap. Enjoyed the chicken pie from the specials board and the sticky toffee pudding was yummy too! Also have a good pub garden.

Doesn’t know whether to be Gastro or ordinary pub grub! Went there for a late lunch Friday 13th and had the beer battered cod and chips which is listed as a Classic Dish which was excellent. Returning the following night , big mistake. The wines, for their quality, are over priced. We both had mussels, which was the smallest portion of mussels I’ve ever had anywhere, only about 8/9 on a small breakfast dish for £7. Ribeye steak followed, ordered medium was only just about medium with a burnt bitter outer coating. My wife had fish stew which only had a few pieces of fish in it. Way overpriced for meal content although chips were good! Won’t be back! Staff pleasant but far from welcoming!

No prices displayed for 250ml (£9.50) but much more expensive proportionally than 175ml £5.50. The waiter agreed but did nothing about it. I wont be back.

Excellent food. Though the night we were there there was a problem in the kitchen and there was a very limited menu.

Lovely environment, great pub garden and good selection of all kept beer. Also a good selection of gins including more unusual local ones. Although we didn’t eat hear the menu and what we saw of others food looked good
