Just come back from Beechfield House, were booked in for an overnight stay for a wedding nearby at Hartham House. The hotel is in a gorgeous setting, the building is lovely. We stayed in Hazel room on second floor of main house, my parents were in Poplar in The Coach House. Both rooms were decorated very tastefully, comfy beds and pillows. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Didn't eat dinner at the hotel but had full english breakfast which was really good. The only slight issue was the shower over the bath was very difficult to get the temperature right and showerhead had to be held as nothing to fix it to on the wall. The outside pool was in use quite a bit so is obviously well heated. Would not hesitate to go back.

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to post your review. We are replacing the hot water system in the main house next month and will refurbish the remaining bathrooms in January/February next year. I hope you will come back and see the further improvements next year. Thanks again.

This was our second visit to Beechfield House and I cannot fault it. Our room was spotless and spacious, the staff were excellent and the breakfast was delicious. The grounds are beautiful and our dog loved them. We had a room which had direct access to them, which makes a big difference. We did not eat in the restaurant, but had a bar snack, which was very good. We will be going back.

I visited this hotel for a private occasion (a wedding), so it was closed for public.
Everything from arrival to check-out was excellent.
The hotel has a small spa and an outside heated pool.......
The rooms are clean and luxurious for this standard, and the staff were friendly, efficient and always there when needed, but in the background, if you know what I mean.......
The food: Our evening meal was of very good standard and the breakfast to die for!
I asked for coffee, and got a whole pot to myself - not just a cup as you often get and have to hang around for the second cup.
I recommend this hotel as a break, or as a base for sightseeing.

Room Tip: Unfortunately I had no chance to visit the spa - but the soap and shampoo in the room were aromati...

We stayed at this beautiful hotel last night! We booked 3 rooms as we had a family party a few miles up the road.
On arriving at the hotel it is beautiful and the perfect setting. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and couldn't do enough for us!
On showing us to our rooms we were in the 'pear room'.
As we have two little girls the sofa bed was already set up along with a travel cot! The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in and huge pillows which you can sink into!
We had time to walk around the stunning gardens amongst the pear and apple trees! Fabulous!
A lovely pool too with tables set for us to have a drink in the sun!

The hotel is so clean and tidy! We so wish we had the time to book a table in the restaurant as the menu looked mouthwatering but as we had a party we were unable to but definitely we will be returning!!
The breakfast in the morning was gorgeous! As there were 8 of us they gave us a room to ourselves and with a 1 and 3 year old it was so nice to be able to relax without having to worry about them bothering other guests!
We lost our key to the bedroom during our stay and although knowing that it was in our bedroom somewhere we informed reception who were so helpful and informed us not to panic!
They even went up to our room whilst we sat having Breakfast to help look for it! Fantastic customer service!
My husband finally found it (thankfully) and the reception even had a giggle with us! Phew!!
We will definately be returning to the hotel for a longer stay to savour how stunning it is and to use the spa which looks fab! You have a hotel and the staff to be proud of! Well done and see you soon!!!

Many thanks for your nice positive review. We also have a great three night family break priced very competitively - especially for larger families.

I always try to be objective when writing reviews on TripAdvisor, being realistic about any negative points. But I really can't think of anything bad to say about Beechfield House!

Stayed for one night back in July with my partner, and we had the most fantastic stay. The welcome was warm and friendly, our room (on the first floor overlooking the pool) was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, spacious and very comfortable.

We headed straight for the pool on arrival and were extremely lucky to be able to have it to ourselves for 2 hours, then spent a while wandering around the extensive and beautiful grounds. Unfortunately the restaurant was full (we hadn't booked in advance) so instead we chose to eat from the bar menu and sat outside on the terrace by the pool until late; even so, the staff were friendly and chatty, yet professional and attentive throughout the evening and there was no sense of being hurried.

We had time for another swim before a plentiful breakfast - full English, with coffee and pastries - before reluctantly checking out.

Beechfield House is somewhere we can highly recommend, and are looking forward to returning to some time soon.

This is a lovely, elegant hotel with delicious food and excellent wine, although it would have been nice to have "specials" to add variety. We left the children behind and came for a weekend, but we might bring them another time as they seem very child-friendly. I found the staff were particularly thoughtful, professional and pleasant and I had a wonderful massage as a treat. We used the place as a touring base and it worked very well. Cedar is a beautiful room (the views of the Victorian garden are amazing). I loved the pretty bathroom but the shower was quite hard to use particularly for someone who's had to take her glasses off, and there aren't any instructions; so I got drenched when I just wanted a bath. Also the towels are a bit small. I would definitely come again!

Many thanks for your feedback and kind comments. We have since upgraded and renewed all our bathroom towels etc and put super luxurious bath sheets into our Country and Comfy rooms. We will shortly update our guest information with instructions on how to operate bath/shower controls in the appropriate bathrooms. We hope to see you return with the whole family next time!
