Perfect for all local attractions. Rooms are roomy and fitted to a high standard. Restaurant far better than we expected and all staff encountered were most helpful. Slight downside is the limited car parking available.

Sappers62,

Thank you for your recent feedback great to read you had a good stay with us; I am delighted you took the opportunity to dine in our Solstice Bar & Grill which is certainly one of the best restaurants locally. Our car-park circles the entire hotel and has capacity for up to 200 cars, I am sorry you did not see the whole facility; thankfully we never have any car parking issues at the hotel.

I very much hope to be able to welcome you back when you are next in the local area.

Best wishes

The hotel is nicely designed in a modern style, with a large restaurant and spacious lobby. The rooms are well equipped but a bit small. This is a busy hotel, located in a business park beside the A303 in central Wilshire, close to Stonehenge and Amesbury. We benefitted from the "kids eat free" policy, having dinner in the restaurant, and the food was delicious. The bed and breakfast package was worthwhile, with a slightly better selection than a Holiday Inn Express.

looking for a hotel in the area of Codford to stay whilst on a business trip to the area. the Holiday Inn came up, we booked and turned up, the staff were very friendly and helpful making you fell very welcome. First impressions were this is a new hotel and I was taken by surprise to learn it had been open 6 years. We were given a very comfortable room on the ground floor, it was all you would expect and more! every thing worked, very clean, quiet etc; breakfast started at 6.30 which is good because it allows to participate and the travel on great service and good food. The business park had other places to eat if you chanced a change a good experience all round

Just be aware that the hotel is quite a way out of Salisbury...but very close to Stonehenge. The staff were friendly, room was comfortable and the meal in the restaurant was very enjoyable. Having plenty of free parking was also a "plus". An enjoyable stay.

Stayed 1 night en route to south west as it was a convenient stop over for Stonehenge. The building is modern and fresh with ample parking. A handy choice of fast food chains next to the hotel (harvester, pizza hut, kfc). Staff were pleasant and the hotel was clean and well maintained. Room was modern with a good size walk in shower, flat screen tv, safe and a/c. Downsides... the double bed seemed small and the mattress felt very cheap and uncomfortable. The a/c was a welcome relief in the recent hot weather but was a very noisy unit built into the wall under the window (in the syle of an American motel). Not the hotels fault but be aware that we received an early morning wake up from local chavs racing their noisy cars around the surrounding roads. Personally, I wouldn't stay here again primarily due to the very uncomfortable bed.

Dear usa12354,

I am deeply sorry for the negative issues upon your review which seemed to outweigh the positive comments made. Rest assured all beds we categorise as Double are 4ft 6inchs this being the official definition of a double bed. All beds within the hotel are purchased from a leading bed supplier approved by IHG and given the official Royal seal of approval.

I was pleased to note most of your comments referred to a good experience and I am saddened that the negatives have shown so strongly in your overall score. Finally reference the racing cars the hotel is well sound proofed due to our location on the A303 so I was surprised to read your comments about the noisy cars, in my time at the hotel this is a first to hear, however I apologise if this noise disturbed your sleep.

I do hope you will reconsider your comment not to stay here again; I would like to think that given another chance we would excel in our quality and service and leave you with some better lasting memories.

Kind regards

Marc Solarz

The Holiday Inn sits in a dominating position right next to the A303. It's impossible to miss the hulking bulk of this magnificently modern building - all brushed steel and subtle blue glow. Travellers may be surprised as they take the off-ramp - a huge statue awaits them as they round the final corner: rocked back on his knees he faces north east (oddly) he seems to be praying for deliverance from Amesbury, world capital of single mothers and the 'jumper and jeans combo'.

The hotel itself is well worth it. The rooms are very clean and modern; the staff chatty and polite; the service excellent. The bar downstairs is also worth a stop and the food in the restaurant is jolly good. If you can, take breakfast there: the selection is fantastic and most 'un-English'.

There is a Travelodge less than a mile away down the A303. It's quite simple really: if you absolutely must stay locally and you're very poor or perhaps engaged in some sort of manual labour, stay at the Travelodge. If you want somewhere 'a little nicer' then stay here.

Last point: upgrade if you can - totally worth it!

Very convenient for Stonehenge and Wiltshire heritage sites. Nice airy location next to A303 and easy to find. Plenty of parking and amenities closeby. Reception/bar/restaurant area is spacious and nicely decorated in contempory neutral fashion. A very relaxing environment.
Staff were efficient and responsive. Check in and out was easy. We are rewards members so were given a free movie but not offered anything else. We ate in the restaurant in the evening - the food was lovely.
We booked a standard room which has a small window made even smaller by 2 pairs of thick curtains and a net curtain which blocked out light in the room and meant we could not see the view from the room. This was a shame because the view was over fields and big sky. There is also a big air conditioning unit under the window which when switched on was noisy. The window is sealed so the only way to get fresh air into the room was through the air conditioning unit. (I understand that executive rooms have larger windows.) Otherwise the bed was comfortable, we had a relaxing stay and would definately stay at this hotel again when in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a large window.

Dear Stelaw,

Following your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Salisbury-Stonehenge it was a pleasure to read your detailed brief of your experience. I am delighted you were able to dine in the Solstice Bar & Grill, the quality of our cuisine and service is one of our best kept secrets and for future guests reading this response I highly recommend you take up the option of dining on property; I can certainly assure you a superb dinner.

Our bedrooms are fully air-conditioned so no better place to rest on a hot summer’s night allowing you a cool comfortable night’s sleep. I certainly hope to be able to welcome you back in the not too distant future for what I am sure will be an equally enjoyable break.

Best wishes
