We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Stonehenge. It is an easy two-mile drive from the hotel. It appears to be relatively new, has been kept in good condition, and was quiet. It is a two story property that has elevators for the second floor. The hallways are relatively narrow and carrying luggage could be difficult if anyone is coming in your direction. It is somewhat away from the actual town, but there is a convenience store, restaurant, Pizza Hut, and petrol station next door.

We chose the breakfast buffet option. The food was fine, but the meal itself is somewhat overpriced.

In order to access the Internet you need a code from the front desk, or sit in the lounge area next to the check in.

If you are on a driving tour that includes Wiltshire, Stonehenge, or Woodhenge this is a good choice. There is nothing spectacular or inherently interesting about this hotel, but it is a solid choice if you want a quiet place to get a good nights sleep.

A very good short break for a good crowd attending a wedding. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was brilliant but it can get quite warm if you are seated near the large windows.

The prices are very reasonable and I think this is the bast value stay in the local area by quite some margin.

We checked in @ approx 4.30 pm, the receptionist was very helpful and asked whether we would like to have breakfast the following morning, and if so @ what time.We took the special offer of £9.99 for the breakfast and informed her we would have it @ 9am.
We had two rooms which were clean ( your standard holiday inn rooms) and roomy and very nice. The beds are very comfortably.
After a good night's sleep we woke and went for breakfast @ the time we had arranged 9am.We were shown to a table, but there were no tables that were clean, so we were asked to wait in the bar while they cleared some tables, ( it looked like no one was clearing tables, as there were many tables awaiting to be cleared). After aprrox a 10 minute wait we were shown to our table,no cutlery was on the table we had to find our own, also there were no cups/ mugs on the table and we had to ask for them, no one offered us tea / coffee, but we were told it was a buffet and to help ourselves, so we helped our selves to fruit juice, but we couldn't help our selves to a hot drink due to the lack of cups / mugs. I asked one of the few waiters for coffee and eventualy we got it.
Next we had cereal from the buffet, there is a very wide choice of cereal and fresh fruit and yogurts, but there were no cereal spoons on our table, and when I asked for spoons we were given soup spoons, no great shakes re the type of spoon, but it did take a while for them to come. We then decided to have the hot buffet, but they had run out, so we had approx 10 minute wait for the food to be replenished the queue was large so out of our group two got their hot breakfast, then the other two had to wait for eggs and sausages to be replenished. The breakfast is very nice and well worth the the reduced price. However considering that you inform the receptionist of the time you are going to eat, the kitchen & restaurant staff should have everything under control, but they don't.
Maybe the management of the hotel need to address the lack of management in the restaurant.

Greeted well and made to feel welcome by receptionist. Room clean and reasonable size. Did not use restaurants as was only a stopover visit but the places around the hotel seemed cheaper than the food within the hotel itself although this is often the way. Was unable to find any stairs to and from the rooms - only lifts which I felt was a bit odd. Still, basic but meets expected standards, reasonably priced and would return on route to or from Cornwall next time.

Basic room, good price, great breakfast. Large bar and restraunant area. Friendly staff. Free wifi in lobby and hard wired in room comes at a cost. If using iPad you need to a Apple Airport to convert it to wifi.

Would stay again, in fact made me look closely at other Holiday Inns as I moved around UK.

The hotel itself is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, it is very close to Stonehenge which was handy, however because of the location other options are limited. There is a KFC and a Harvester which make up part of the Commercial estate.

Me my Fiancée and some friends stayed here on the way back from Newquay. We got there approx 14:30 and were told check in was 15:00 and that we had to wait for a room to be available. about 15:15 we were told our rooms were available, minor I know and it wouldn't really bother me but it was the start of things to come. We were lead to the first two rooms in the hotel, (made me wonder what the delay was really) the rooms were ok, nothing special but clean and fresh. The guy on check in advised to book a table in the restaurant because apparently there were llimited tables available. I booked a table from the room and we got ready and went to the bar/restaurant to have a look at the menu, my fiancee was pregnant at the time and was limited to what we could eat, we found the menu very overpriced with not too much variation. In the end we decided to cancel the table, with all due repect to the restaurant manager he was very accomodating and said we could request anything we wanted to eat and they would try and make it available. We ended up eating at the Harvester which wasn't too good either.

The following morning (22nd July) at around 06:00 the fire alarm went off for about 6 or 7 minutes (seemed a lot longer at the time), obviously it startled and shocked all of us, it was stopped for about 5 minutes and then went of again for a couple of minutes. After this none of us could get back to sleep my Fiancee in particular was shuck up and being pregnant made it even worse. We checked out approx 08:30 to which nothing was even mentioned about the alarm by the girl on the checkout, when I mentioned it she just said "oh yeah we had a fault and it went off for a couple of minutes", she was obviously not staying there when it happened.

After I got home I sent a complaint to Intercontinental Hotels Group, I got a reply a week later appologising and saying it was going to be passed on to the hotel and a copy available for the general manager. That was two weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything back. The customer service throughout the stay was very poor and following the complaint even worse. I ceratinly will not be staying at this hotel again and will probably overlook staying at what I think is an expensive hotel chain anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are sorry that you and your fiance were disturbed by the fire alarm during the morning of your stay. It is necessary for the fire alarm to be heard in an emergency and it is therefore loud. On this occasion it was discovered that our customers and staff were not at risk and the alarm was over ridden and eventually turned off. The efficiency of the alarm and our staff and the guests safety during possible or actual emergency situations, is of paramount importance to us. We are sorry that you were inconvenienced and hope that you can understand that the alarm system is a necessary requirement for the safety of all. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
