Booked purely for location, having booked a sunrise access visit to Stonehenge wanted to stay somewhere close. Mandalay Guest House did not disappoint, less than 5min drive and a pleasant walk if necessary (although we didn't purely because of one of us having a disability).

While close to Amesbury itself and Salisbury also only a short drive and as we were limited for time we managed to fit a lot into our one night and two full days stay.

Nick was accommodating and helpful with restaurant suggestions for evening. Can't comment on breakfast as we'd left before the house was awake however the breakfast room was nicely situated looking over the garden. Room was fitted nicely and very clean and comfortable. All in all a lovely B&B.

We stayed here for twwo nights. It is so close to Stonehenge you can walk there easily.
We were in the Bronte room it was lovely.
Comfy bed, spotlessly clean, with a lovely view of the gerden to the rear of the house.
The breakfast room is beautiful all in soothing shades of blue.
We have no problem recommending this to anyone.

I chose this b&b because it is the closest there is to Stonehenge. I had read some negative reviews on this page so I went with some misgivings, but my personal experience has been positive. Nick, the owner, was always there to fulfill your needs. And the place itself was as good as any other bed & breakfast.

Warm welcome from friendly hosts. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was outstanding. Only a pleasant 10 minute walk into Amesbury. Good free internet access and ample parking. I would highly recommend the Mandalay to anyone wishing to stay in the Stonehenge area.

I have stayed here many many times over the years, with Nick & Angie as hosts (and before that with the previous owners). It is a wonderful home and great care goes into providing wonderful accommodations for their guests. They are so busy now it is hard for me to get my small groups in. We did never feel so unwelcome in a B&B. The hostess opened the door and didn't say welcome or hello. Laughing looks very hard for the hostess. She smiled only when we left and payed the bill. It is very obvious that they run the B&B only for the money.
The room itself was clean but far too small. This was a room for 3 and they added an extra 4th bed while this was almost impossible.
The breakfast room was clean and the breakfast basic but OK (no fresh fruit nor yoghourt).
Too expensive for a small room and unwelcome feeling.

A great weekend in Amesbury for the Summer Solstice, and Stonehenge. We stayed 3 nights and it coulndnt have been better. The room was superb, the Tennyson. The guest house was better than most 4 star hotles we have stayed in over tthe years. Nothing was too much trouble, superb breakfast , and a lovely breakfast room overlooking an awesome garden.
Will certainly be going back next year.
