“Perfectly Rustic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

We rented out the both the cabin and house for 4 adults and 2 young children. This was an exceptional value for the hospitality, quality of food, and historic experience you will receive at the Country Road B&B and provided us with plenty of room. The hostess was friendly, while still letting you to enjoy yourselves privately. Her breakfasts felt simple, yet were very delicious and every bit homemade. The rooms were full of historic country charm and felt clean, well maintained and comfortable for the modern family. It's amazing to read the structures history and see the product of one man's vision.

Couples would find romantic privacy at the location, but others like us (with young children) will be pleased too. Jan did not turn up her nose at the idea of kids and knew us all by name the first day. There is yard for kids to run and play and plenty of chickens to chase. I can not comment on the pool because we did not use it (it was 40 degrees out).

If I had to list a fault it would be that the log cabin's shower is a little primitive and the location is a bit random.

Room Tip: The log house provides a more romantic bedroom and bath, flat screen and DVD player. The log cabin p...

This is the best B&B experience I've ever had!

I came into town from Los Angeles, and wanted to find a good place to meet friends from Ohio and Pennsylvania. We ended up with 9 total people, and Country Road B&B kept us more than covered.

We rented both the log cabin and log house, which gave us more than enough room to enjoy ourselves. All the beds were comfortable and clean, as were the bathroom. Even though it's so close to the airport, it was super quiet and relaxing.

And the breakfast was phenomenal! This is probably going to end up being a tradition for us.

Room Tip: We kind of pushed how many people could sleep there, but even with 9 people, everybody had a soft pl...

In the area for a family celebration, we wanted to stay somewhere all together (5 adults & 3 children). Found the B&B on Trip Advisor and it seemed from the description to fit our needs. Turned out to be nothing less than perfect. We rented both the house & cabin and we had lots of room for everyone. Our littlest family members were able to go to bed while we adults could sit in one of the living rooms and visit without disturbing the children.

Weather was warm enough to use the pool on Friday night, which the kids enjoyed. Even the hot tub was used! Beautiful grounds and Jan's hospitality was warm & welcoming.

Our total experience at the B&B was one to remember and we would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

I found the b&b through google and was immediately intrigued by the uniqueness of the accomodations. It did not appear to be your "typical" getaway. I was excited because I wanted to surprise my wife and "typical" just would not do. I was not able to find any reviews which scared me but it was just to unique an opportunity to pass by so I took the chance. What a great decision!

We arrived Thursday evening and were quickly greated by the Jan who escorted us by flashlight up a short road to the log cabin. We walked into the cabin and I could see in my wife's eyes that this was the perfect getaway.

The cabin is small but cozy. The beds are in a loft which is accessible by a steep set of spiral stairs. The place was restored by the owners which certainly shows as all aspects were done with great pride and detail. Obviously the original cabin would not have a bathroom but an outhouse so while the bathroom is a little quirky it is certainly better than having to use an outhouse.

Our entire experience was great but the icing on the cake for our getaway was walking out the back door of the cabin and enjoying a quiet, snowy evening while relaxing in a hot tub surrounded by pine trees with romantic lights strung perfectly from the trees.

If you are looking for typical go elsewhere but if you are looking for a unique way to say "I love you"...this is your place.
