Description: Bistrot Pierre's 'raison d'être' is great value French cooking and seasonal menus. We like to combine French bistrot classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and crème brulee with our own take on regional favourites like confit de canard and paté de campagne. Our relaxed and friendly bistrot is the place to go for any occasion. Open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner we have something for everyone, from the two-course prix-fixe lunch for £11.95 and a two-course pre-theatre menu for £14.95 to the sumptuous a la carte menu, and for those with little time we now also offer a one-course lunch menu for just £9.95. Wander through our distinctive French wine list too, with over 20 French wines sold by the glass you will discover something exquisite to drink with your meal. For something a little special we also host a range of events at the bistrot. Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month for our Soireé Gastronomique, a six-course set menu with hearty provincial cooking. This is outstanding value priced at £22.95 per person. In addition, we also offer a special Dine with Wine evening where each course comes with a glass of specially chosen wine. This takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, so join us for a delicious two or three course set dinner menu for £22.95/£27.95 per person. We want to make sure there is something for everyone on our menus, whatever your dietary requirements. That's why you'll find plenty of delicious gluten-free dishes as well as a child-friendly menu on offer to help make your experience in our restaurant as easy and enjoyable as possible. “Dining Out”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

On a visit to my son's home in Ilkley, we decided to dine out at the Crescent Hotel restaurant on a Saturday evening. My wife, son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons along with myself formed the family group. We booked in at very short notice and had a two hour slot from 7-9pm to enjoy our meal. It was a very busy evening for the restaurant and yet we were served promptly and efficiently. Paula was our main waitress for the evening and she was superb. Great sense of humour, good chat and efficient service. The choice of food and drink was excellent and preparation and quality first class. Altogether a most worthwhile visit and would warmly recommend the hotel.

“Great value breakfast”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Having eaten in many bistro Pierre restaurants around the country we have never been disappointed. This was the first time we had breakfast in Bistro Pierre and it was outstanding value. We had the Petit déjeuner Anglais (Small), (the large must be very large judging by the size of the small), and tea and coffee in abundance are free with any hot breakfast. Will definitely be going for breakfast again.

“very glad we tried it.”
Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

we've often eaten in the bar side of the crescent and always enjoy the food there, but we fancied a change and were curious as to what the French style brasserie was like.

the service was very efficient, and the food was tasty, plentiful and at £10.50 for 2 courses at lunch, it was excellent value.

will definitely return.

“Disappointed: Meal marred by very slow service”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

This was our wedding anniversary and we booked for 7pm, arriving about 10 minutes late. They were not particularly busy and our expectations were high having been before. We opted for the £20.50 meal (2 courses plus carafe house wine) and I am sorry to say it took 1 3/4 hours before our main courses were served. The starters arrived in reasonable time but no comment made by our waitress apologizing for the lateness and other than an apology to my wife as she left there was no explanation given for the delay and no compensation or gesture offered. What happened we will never know. The ambiance of the restaurant was fine, the decor excellent, and when the food arrived it was OK but unremarkable. It's such a shame as we had a good experience before and this is a friendly and obliging place based on our past visits. We would have liked to have given better marks but we have to tell it how it is.

Hello,

Thank you for your very honest and frank review, as you say 'you have to tell it how it is and we appreciate that you have', I am truly sorry you had slow service on your recent dine with us and can assure you I have discussed your visit with my managment team and chefs to try and ensure it does not happen again.

We were actually quite busy that evening and unfortunately as seems to be the case quite often most of our diners arrived at the same time, it can sometimes feel like we arent that busy due to our alcoves and cosy corners to hide in, but this does sometimes lead to delays in our food being served as we cook everything fresh to order.

I really am sincerely apologetic that we have obviously let you down on this occasion and I hope this won't deter you from dining with us again in the near future.

Please don't hesitate to contact me directly in future with any comments or observations you may have on 01943 811255.

Kind regards,

Richard
