I stayed with my family over a weekend. The dalesway gave me and my family a warm welcome and made sure we had a room which suited our stay. Everyone involved in running the dalesway were friendly, talkative, and welcoming. The room was to a high standard with a en-suit and was maintained by the house staff to a top standard aswell.
The dalesway was undergoing a revamp while we were there so it shows how the owners and staff are committed to bring a top hotel to full working capacity. The food wow! you must try the carvery, the best. A full english breakfast on request.
I have read some of the other comments which people have left, it goes to show they never gave the hotel and staff a chance to show what they can achieve.
We are going back again for sure, ok the pub has live music or a disco till late but it's the atmosphere that counts. With all the work complete the rooms will be top notch!!!
There are three floors, but the staff will tell you if the hotel is suitable for you or not. A top hotel/Pub soon to get better!
KEEP IT UP GUYS!! GREAT WEEKEND

we were looking for somewhere to stay a bit of a last minute trip, we ended up in the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. I wouldnt even call this a hotel. £60 for two of us to stay in one room, that was revolting ad pretty creepy. The wall paper was pealing and there was black mould all over the bathroom (that was the size of a cupboard), the sheets were filthy and smelly.Downstairs the music and chavs went onuntil past 2am. A very disapointing visit, over priced and not a fun experience.

Where to start.... ? To be fair to the Dalesway I only wanted a cheap bed & breakfast for one night, as long as it wasn't too far from Leeds/Bradford Airport. And I probably caught it on a bad day as there was a World Cup match on and the crowds in the bar of the hotel were probably much larger than usual. But even under those circumstances and with those fairly low selection criteria the Dalesway failed to live up to any expectations. I was told on arrival that I would need to keep my room's windows open otherwise the room would become unbearably hot. The television didn't work. Every electrical point was loaded with so many multple adaptors that I expected to be caught in a fire at some point. The door fell off the shower (I suspect not for the first time) when I tried to get into it. I was told that breakfast would be served between 8.30 and 9, not a minute before, not a minute after. After seeing the state of the kitchen I didn't take the loss of breakfast as too much of a problem. The free, secure parking turned out to be four car parking spaces that were all used up permanently. The pub on the ground floor was banging out thumping music till way past midnight and was then followed by crowds of drunken yobs hanging around for another hour or two swearing, shouting, screaming, I think I eventually got to sleep at about 2am. To top it off I was told that I couldn't have a VAT invoice.

A real shame - Ilkley is a lovely little town with some great shops, at least one great bar and eaterie (Bar Tat) and some lovely countryisde around it. It deserves much better than this place.
