“corrupt booking system”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2010

we made provision to book this place and brought show tickets on that basis. the owner was away on holiday but we left details with her relation to be contacted on her return. she left a message on the answer phone and was not around again to take our booking we phoned later but she had already left the room to someone else. these people need to take the business seriously and respond properly to booking enquires. bookings taken at a risk due to owners greed!

This B&B is one of the best i've stayed in. The owner (Maureen) is a fabulous lady with a very friendly and welcoming manner. She even offered to drive us to the next town to the party we were going to, which was really nice of her and well above and beyond the call.

The house was lovely, with a fab terrace and garden with views over the valley.

The room was very spacious and comfortable with magnificant views of Hebden Bridge and the hills around. The room price was 70 GBP including breakfast for both of us, which might sound a bit steep, but is in line with all of the other guest houses / hotels / B&B's i looked at.

Breakfast was veggie and organic. Maureen laid on fresh fruit, homemade muesli, plums from the garden, fresh coffee and fresh bread baked that morning (which was still warm). This was then followed up with scrambled egg on toast with mushrooms and tomatoes. We were full for the rest of the day!

We only stayed one night but it felt like we'd stayed more! it was a really relaxing stay.

We'll definitely be back to stay next time we're in the area... i won't consider anywhere else unless Maureen is fully booked!!

We stayed at this lovely little B&B in December 2006 for one night and had wished that we had gone for longer.

It is set up on the hillside, overlooking the town of Hebden Bridge although is only 5 minutes walk from the town. The town itself has a lot to offer for a weekend away. There is some beautiful countryside on the doorstep for walking, running, climbing or mountain biking and yet there is an abundance of funky little shops/ organic cafes too. There was also a flea market and antique fair going on when we were there. Perfect for a romantic weekend away!

The B&B itself only has one room but it was like a home from home. The room itself was large and had a very comfy bed and sofa. There were large windows offering magniicent views of the hillside, town and river. Everything in the room was really clean and well looked after but not starchy like a hotel room and had lots of books, magazines, plants and ornaments scattered about which made it feel relaxed and homely ane very established. There was tea and coffee making facilities with a vast selection of herbal teas. The en suite bathroom was also more than adequate.

The proprietor was lovely and although very friendly was not overbearing as we have had in B&Bs before. She was also very understanding of muddy legs and shoes. The breakfast that she offered was delicious and all veggie but as non veggies this was more than sufficient. We started with homemade apple and raspberry compote with yogurt, there were croissants, rustic breads and homemade jam and then we had scrambled eggs on toast with very tasty mushrooms which she cooked us to order. Certainly set us up for the day.

This place would be great in the summer as there is a big veranda overlooking the town to the front of this lovely property which I'm sure is put to good use.

We'll definately be back.......
