“Lovely B and B in quiet location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

This farm is a couple of miles outside Hebdon Bridge and too far to walk to pubs/restaurants. However the location is superb and hosts could not be more friendly.ideal for walkers(It is on the Pennine Way) or those travelling by car.

We had a very friendly welcome from Miriam and hubby when we arrived, they could not do enough for us, They really looked after us. A very nice place to stay. We will be back.
We can't say enough good things about the place.

I tend to save my five stars for 'stunning' of which I have found two out of about 20 in the last couple of years. Badger Fields Farm was not stunning but it was very good. A genuinely warm welcome followed by a fresh pot of tea and Victoria sandwich cake. My room was in the converted loft space which meant sloping ceilings but it was comfortable and I had my own separate lounge space. Instructions for using the TV (with digi-box) were 'challenging' and I gave up on the morning news! I didn't have an evening meal so possibly missed out on what other reviewers have written so highly about but I did enjoy a very good breakfast. Walkers - Pennine Way or otherwise - should definitely consider staying here because it is ideal for those looking for somewhere comfortable and functional.

This must be one of the best places to stay along the Pennine Way. I had an excellent stay here and would highly recommend it, especially to others walking the Pennine Way. It's only a stone's throw from the path. Miriam goes out of her way for walkers and I can't say enough good things about this place. From the genuinely warm welcome and tea/coffee and baking upon arrival, to the comfortable rooms, to the cosy lounge area for guests to relax, to the amazingly good cooking (I recommend the evening meal - better than anything I have eaten in a pub), everything was done perfectly and I left feeling refreshed and ready for the next day's walk.

Badgerfields Farm enjoys a superb view over the Calder valley towards Stoodley Pike. The downside if you are walking the Pennine Way is that you have to make the 600 foot steep climb out of the valley to reach it, no doubt at the end of a long day. However, the alternative is a long walk into Hebden Bridge for a choice of B & Bs, plus the same walk back and you still have to make the climb the following morning.
My room was comfortable, I had sole use of a bathroom, and the evening meal and breakfast were both excellent. Everything you would expect from a good quality B & B.

We stayed here for one night whilst riding the Mary Towneley Loop with our horses. We'd had a pretty tough day (it has rained all day) but were greeted with a pot of tea and somewhere to dry our clothes.

Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view and tea and coffee making facilities, plus biscuits and squash!

The food was superb - really yummy homecooked meal with wine, a delicious breakfast and hearty packed lunch.

The horses were also well catered for with use of a stable, hay and feed and a beautiful turnout field. They were very happy and relaxed.

Highly recommended.

We stayed here while walking the Pennine way. We had made the decision to climb up the hill to the farm at the end of the day. After 25km this seemed a very long climb but it was worth it. A great welcome with the door opened as we approached in the rain and then tea and cake. An excellent evening meal with home grown veg and lamb. The room was fine and everything dried out overnight. There was nobody else in so we had the bathroom to ourselves. Lovely breakfast and then you start the next day at the top of the hill rather than at the bottom.
