“Overnight stay”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

Stayed here for one night a couple of weekends ago with my boyfriend in the Gemini room. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and good advice on parking. The room itself was clean and modern. The only thing missing was a remote for the tv but maybe I was missing something and it really didn't matter for a one night stay. We had read lots of reviews re noise but to be honest we didn't think the bar was at all noisy and any noise we heard was from elsewhere, or people going by in the street. We were going to a birthday party at Trades club which was so close which was great in the early hours for coming back!

We had food there in the evening in the bar which was ok. Not the best I have ever had but perfectly ok. Breakfast in the morning was nice and laid back which is exactly what I like. To be able to get served but left alone to relax and take your time. Although it seems a bit more expensive than a lot of places in the area I liked it here and in terms of quality I will certainly consider coming back in the future.

I have just got back from a weekend stay at the crown inn with my wife. Having read the reviews on this site prior to our visit i was unsure of how our experience was going to be. Well were back now having had one of the best weekend breaks we have ever had. Yes there was a certain level of noise from the pub and outside but we was staying above a pub and wouldn't have expected otherwise. As for the room it was amazing the bed was one of the most comfortable i have slept in the double shower was amazing the decor was very nice and the room was clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was very nice. Having now stayed at the crown inn and reading these reviews with an personal experience i would say that alot of the negative reviews are pure snobbery. They are room above a village pub and not the Hilton (although we've stayed at the york Hilton and preferred the crown inn). Overall we had an extremely enjoyable experience which we would highly recommend and will be visiting again in the future, Thank you to all the staff at the crown inn.

Room Tip: Indulgence room was worth the extra money. Bed and shower was amazing.

We had a one night stay in the twin Gemini room. The room was very clean and comfortable and although above the bar the noise wasn't a problem. We went to a gig at the trades club and returned just after midnight when the bar was closing so had no issues with getting to sleep and had a great nights sleep. We ate in the bar before going to the gig and the food was great and reasonably, a good range of veggie options and my husband particularly enjoyed his halloumi stack burger. No parking but if you pay for extra hours at the pay and display car park it carries over to the next day.

Stayed here whilst visiting friends. Rooms are clean, you have all you need and they are quirky with themed names and decor. The place has a relaxed and friendly vibe. Excellent food - we were told that the owner is the head chef so that explains the menu, presentation and taste. Breakfast has a good choice and I can highly recommend the cooked options - very well presented and so tasty! They are not looking to rush you like in other places so it's easy to read the papers and enjoy a chill and plan your day without the feeling they want to clear your table away. The staff are friendly and well organised by "Penny" a lovely lady who knows her stuff - we were given great advice about local places to check out during our stay, she always had a friendly "hello" for us and was genuinely interested in making sure we felt cared for. It's a great find and we will stay again. Central for all that Hebden Bridge and surrounding areas has to offer, foods great, staff warm and friendly - rooms are clean, and well presented. I'm not easy to please but I will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Discuss when making your booking as they are all themed and so a little different depending on which...

We stayed at the Crown Inn for 1 night DBB, we bought this offer on Groupon at a bargain price of £59! The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Hebden Bridge, there is no on site car parking but you can park very close on the nearby council car parks. When myself and my husband arrived we was greeted by friendly obliging staff who offered to book us a table for our evening meal and shown us to our CHILL room. The room was on the top floor and was spotlessly clean. Our evening meal was beautiful, the waitress service was excellent nothing was too much trouble and I had the best rib eye steak I have tasted in a long time! After a sound nights sleep we went for breakfast and once again the food was beautiful, helping ourselves to cereal and fruit juice then the waitress took our breakfast order and the full English breakfast was again cooked to perfection! We will definitely return to this hotel and would recommend this to others.

We arrived expecting a boutique hotel and we got a b&b that was not the relaxing break in luxury we expected. We stayed for an hour and checked out as this was totally not what we expected. Our own home appeared the better option. Lady on reception was lovely but there was another lady who was more concerned about getting her voucher code than showing us to our room. Don't like negativity but this should not be branded as boutique. Would not recommend and def not four star accommodation : (

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay and that the accommodation was not what you expected. We are listed as a bed and breakfast/inn on Tripadvisor as well as on our personal website and were again rated our 4 stars last month by Enjoy England.

Kind regards,

The Crown Inn is a great place to stay. The rooms are immaculately clean and very nice. The choice of food was very good, home cooked food and extremely good value for money. The staff are very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble to make our stay a very enjoyable experience. We were there for New Year's Eve and the entertainment was fantastic. It made for an extremely good start to the new year. Hebden Bridge is an extremely pretty place and there are lots of quaint shops to look around. A must to visit if in the area. I recommend the Crown Inn as a must to stay in or if just wanting a drink and a delicious meal. We will definitely be staying there again.

Maggie
