We have just returned from an amazing weekend staying in Swanfold Cottage. The cottage is nestled in a pretty cobbled fold in the picturesque village of Heptonstall, a 5 minute drive into Hebden Bridge. It is full of character & charm, beautifully decorated & furnished providing both comfort and luxury. The cottage was immaculate, and we were welcomed with homemade brownies, a lovely touch. We loved the wood burner on the chilly autumnal evenings and the slipper bath was heavenly! Swanfold is a truly special place, we hope it won’t be too long before we return.
My mother and I recently stayed at Swanfold and had a superb time.
The cottage is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and super quaint. It is set in a lovely courtyard with friendly neighbours.
The kitchen is well appointed for self-catering and the beds are super comfy.
My mom and I enjoyed a few glasses of prosecco in the garden in the afternoon and an open fire in the evening. I also took advantage of the deep slipper tub (prosecco still in hand)
The village of Heptonstall is lovely and very picturesque. It was too far for my mom to walk into Hebden Bridge but that wasn't a problem for us. A great base for exploring Yorkshire.
The food in the pub (we only tried one for food) wasn't fab but to be honest. We preferred to cook for ourselves and enjoy the house but having two pubs so close at hand is a definite bonus.
Cathy is an excellent Property Manager, keeping us updated and providing us with clear directions and house details. She contacted on our arrival to ensure that all was ok.
We would highly recommend
Heptonstall is a beautiful sleepy little village on the hill above Hebden Bridge. It has a small village store and a tea room which serves delicious food and two pubs - Swanfold sits very conveniently between the two. Hebden Bridge has many diverse eateries, a Co-op and some quirky independent shops.
Beautiful views and good walks abound. We were there to sing in the yearly Pennine Spring Music festival, performing in the St Thomas's Church. The
Church and the Festival are both worth a visit. The village also has the one of the oldest Methodist chapesl in England still in use . Swanfold is a beautiful, cosy little cottage, and has all the equipment you need. The beds are very comfy and unusually for a cottage in the village it has a separate shower and slipper bath.
Swanfold is a lovely cottage in a great position. If your looking for a walking holiday or just a chilled break it is in lovely village with 2 great pubs within 1 minute walk. The cottage has everything you need, great internet and phone service for those that like to keep connected. The cosy fire at night, the comfy beds and a great selection on Amazon TV. Cathy the owner has thought of everything and there's ample size glasses, plates etc for every occasion and a lovely cooker and table in the kitchen. The courtyard outside is generally quiet so it really is peaceful once you are inside Swanfold...I would highly recommend.
Booked this cottage having never been to this area before. What a find, a beautiful cosy cottage in such a lovely village, great walks, didn't want to leave. Will definitely be booking here again what's not to like x
We absolutely LOVED this cottage. We've visited Heptonstall numerous times and always wanted to stay here; we're so pleased we finally did. Cottage warm, cosy, incredibly well-equipped and beautifully decorated. We visited as a family, with two teenage daughters, and we found it roomy enough for all of us. It was set between two lovely, friendly pubs which serve great food. Heptonstall itself is stunning, and has such a vast amount of history attached. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage, and will definitely be returning.
Really lovely cottage in a beautiful place. Everything you could want in the cottage and from the village. Couple of great pubs that did great food within a minute walk. Will definately return.
