Very dated, dangerous pot holes all along the long driveway to the entrance, no adequate parking facilities, bathroom so tiny you had to climb onto the toilet to close the door behind you. Would not shower as it was so antiquated that I was afraid I may break something. Stay here for a dare if you must but make sure the management pay YOU for being so brave!

Room Tip: There IS no good room!

Me and my boyfriend booked to go to this hotel on sat night, it looked very nice on the pictures. Well that was a different story when we got there. We arrived to not knowing we had a double room booked online. We were told to sit in this bar while they " got the room ready" we was sat for about half an hour waiting for our room. The owner of the hotel took up to our room. The "double room was like a cupboard " I wouldn't even put a dog in the room. It smelled and was really dirty the dirty horrible bathroom had a hole in the floor, and it looked like it was stuck in the 1950"s the bed was in a coner and it was horrible with stains on the sheet .We dint even have a key for the room as he said somebody knicked it and when we wanted to get out of the room we had to ring downstairs. It was that bad we left. He wouldn't give us our money back and we had to argu until he did. This hotel is horrible and I wouldn't even send my worst Enmy to sleep in that room. it was like a night mare.

We booked the Double room on the morning (due to poor planning on my end), but there were four double rooms available at £44 each, we looked at the photos and thought it looked like an amazing place, we made it to the Lodge at about 10:30, we noticed that there were quite a few pot holes up the drive and the car park was abit shadey, but we proceeded anyway, we walked in to meet some guy who wasn't even expecting us, he didn't even know we booked a room. He stated that we had to pay by cash instead of cars (even more shadey!) , He then made us wait for 30 minutes while he sorted out the mess he started, after telling us that our room was ready he took us upstairs without helping us with our bags and took us down a horrible looking hallway that smelt disgusting, and opened a door for us which looked like a Fire Exit, he took us into a room which looked like the size of a cupboard, there was a horrible looking double bed squeezed into a corner with stained sheets and cushions, the bathroom floor was riddled with holes and didn't safe at all and I believe the shower and TV didn't work. We decided that we were not staying in this hell hole so we asked for a refund but the guy in charge wouldn't allow it so he wanted to put us into his kids bedroom instead which was just as bad as ours! We still refused and complained for the next hour until we received our money back. I always recommend using Trip Advisor before going to shadey places like this, we didn't and it ruined our night :( we went home dissapointed and upset. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Just home after a very enjoyable family mothers day lunch.the food was excellent everyone in our party really enjoyed their meals.fantastic value for money and proper gravy too.
The staff were friendly and proffesional. A very relaxed atmosphere, and some lovely little touches like a lovely bunch of daffs for the mums when leaving makes a real difference.
Wouldnt hessitate to recomend the restaurant. we will be back.
The new managment team are doing a fantastic job and im sure will take the hotel from strength to strength.

Having worked through the whole of December, we decided to have our belated works Christmas party at the Gomersal lodge hotel last week following the great reviews i'd heard regarding the new management team that had taken the hotel on towards the end of last year. also its location was ideal for our party and budget ! we were a party of 30 and opted for the smaller function room as opposed to the larger marquee ( which we've now subsequently booked for march!)

The function room was set beautifully with serious attention to detail. We were served a traditional 3 course Christmas Fayre which was all very well presented and cooked to perfection.... even the plates were warm!! ( a serious stumbling block for most large hotel chains!) and the service was top notch. All my party had a great evening and all agreed they would happily go back again next year!. ( if they'd have us!)

Im confident that if this hidden gem in Gomersal continues to produce food and service to this standard it wont remain hidden for much longer. Thanks again! :)

We had our wedding reception at the MARQEE on the 4th August 2012. We have given the wedding top rating of 5 stars. From start to finish the service we recieved from Charmaine and John and all the staff was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and our wedding day went without any hick ups. Weather was beautiful. We has a 3 course wedding breakfast and the hog roast for the evening reception and all was outstanding. All our guest had a wonderful time and were still talking about what a fantastic day they had 4 weeks after.

The groom, some family members, and friends stayed at the hotel as found the staff helpful but the rooms a little run down, but we understand that there is re-furb work taking place, but it was good value for money.

I would again like to thank Charmaine and John for making our wedding day so special and have been recommending the marquee to everyone.

We chose this venue for our wedding day this June and the day was generally ok but there was a few issues.

Firstly we asked for 6 high chairs and there was only 6 so we ended up having to get our own

Secondly we went up the day before to set everything up and we had asked to use their Lilly vases but there weren't any there but to be fair chrmine did go out and buy some new ones for us to use

Thirdly the cutlery wasn't polished or set out very well so one of our friends ended up going back later on and resetting everything and polishing the cutlery.

Lastly this was a biggy, they dropped our cheese cake wedding cake and didn't bother to tell us but instead just put squirty cream on the top of it in the bowls, we only found out the day after one of our guests told us they say them drop it!!!

The food however was great and we had lots of compliments from our guests saying that the food was great.

One last thing I forgot was that they sold out of all draught beer and all bottled beer apart from Becks which I think is pretty poor to be honest, I could understand a couple of beers selling out but all of them apart from 1 is poor planning!

The hotel itself isn't great but the room we had was clean and looked like it had just been decorated but as a honey moon suites was pretty poor

Room Tip: Book somewhere else
