“Groupon deal, excellent value for money”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

The hotel is set in lovely surroundings. My partner and I stayed for 1 night for £39 and we weren't disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We used the spa, pool is a bit on the small side and when busy was difficult to swim but it was nice to chill out and use the sauna and jacuzzi. The gym looked good and when we return next time we'll be taking our gym gear.
We ate in the Italian restaurant in the evening and our meals were excellent. Great service and average prices (well the wine was a little expensive but meals reasonable).
Breakfast is served until 10 so we were able to have a lay in and a swim before going to the restaurant for very nice buffet.
Will definitely be staying again next time the offer is on.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 414 which had a lovely woodland view. I'm glad we didn't have room opposi...

We stayed over the Easter weekend for two nights on a Groupon voucher.
First impressions were good as the building looks nice. First off the reception is very poorly signed. It's actually through the the restaurant. Check in was painless the young lady on reception was polite and helpful and explained everything clearly.
The room was incredibly warm to the point of uncomfortable. The room never cooled down even though the radiator was off when we arrived and it remained off for the duration of our stay. The room was a good size and clean as was the bathroom though towel radiator also never worked all weekend.
It was pleasing to see a trouser press a good quality TV full tea and coffee facilities and hair dryer.
Breakfast was perfectly adequate, a good selection of fruits, cereals pastries and full English self service buffet.
The staff on service were helpfully and attentive as all front of house staff were for our stay. There was a distinct lack of organisation and not once did we see anyone that looked like management and certainly nobody that really took charge at busy times. Sunday morning, with the change if clocks was very busy and question built up and the restaurant was very much in disarray the staff on hand handles it as best they could but there was no management apparent.

The spa is disappointing, there was nobody on reception, 10am Saturday morning. There was a children's swimming lesson on but no signs up saying that the pool was restricted use, it's not that big to start with. The jacuzzi was again small and the filter required cleaning it was very, very black.
Overall the stay was adequate, we would have been disappointed if we had full price. There is great potential here for it to be exceptional, It appears poor senior management is letting the place down as the staff are friendly and helpful but require direction.
It's the small things that are letting the hotel down lots of dirty/stained chairs in the restaurant, water marked ceilings in several locations, a chipped marble table in the restaurant which i cut my arm on, broken wall tile in restaurant. Light fittings hanging off in bathroom and several that are loose / not straight through building.
For a short stay adequate anything longer, until the management pokes its head out, look elsewhere?

First of all thank you for taking the time to write your review and it is lovely to hear about all of the good points which make the hotel a very popular venue. With regards to breakfast on Sunday morning you will be aware that the clocks did go forward and this contributed to an unusual number of late breakfasts. I feel that the restaurant staff and the restaurant Manager dealt with this as efficiently as possible as the hotel had 174 residents all wanting to eat at the same time.

Senior Management where on every day of the Easter Holiday and all of us put in a massive effort to make sure that our guests were comfortable and that Massimo delivered food of a quality which has given it its excellent reputation.

It is no accident that you found our staff courteous and helpful for as you will know without Senior Managements impute this state of affairs would not be continuous.

Once again Gomersal Park Hotel gives fantastic value for money and we look forward to meeting all our guest new and old in the future.

Just returned from a 1 night stay at this Hotel and spa, had a great time the rooms were very clean, the food in the restaurant was out of this world (shin beef) in a bowl was huge, well worth the money.
Spa facilities were very good with pool, sauna, jaccuzi.
Staff were very helpful and we even took our small dog (no charge) (car parking no charge)
Over all wished we could have stayed for longer and would recommend this Hotel for a nice chill out.

My partner, my dog and I have just returned from a night using a Groupon voucher. The room was pretty basic but had patio doors which led straight into the garden which was ideal for my dog. We did not eat in the restaurant but did have breakfast which was spot on, help yourself.
We would definately go back!

This was a great night stay for the money as i got a groupon deal.
I really wouldn't pay full price for this hotel as a three star AA rating is definitely generous.
The breakfast was really nice and the hotel bar has a great atmosphere.
The rooms are clean but the bathrooms do need a bit of a re-vamp.

I stayed here for two nights in March 2013. At first I was quite shocked that a hotel could only offer a standard double bed, particularly when the room was big enough for a king.No niceties in the bathroom, just a very small shower gel and shampoo, not even a facecloth!. The room was bereft of drawers that were functional apart from a very shallow desk drawer that could be locked(no safe). The non slip bath mat was a suspicious aged colour and on the floor next to the bin, the small fixed shower screen had a fringe of black mould and was so small the floor was inevitably soaked when the shower was used.
Dinner in the restaurant was mediocre and over priced, as were drinks.Breakfast was for those lovers of all things fried, only sliced bread on offer no pastries. There was limited cereal and tinned fruit.Staff were friendly when you could find them!
We left the hotel on our first morning at 9am, to attend my sisters funeral, returning at 2.30 pm to find that our room had not been serviced, therefore had to sit in the public lounge area for a cup of tea,not ideal when I just wanted some peace and quiet! When we eventually got access I had to chase reception for milk to make a drink in the room.We went out in the evening to family returning about 11pm, the bar was shut so 2 whiskies were charged at room service price making £19+ a bit over the top.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the upper floors so the smell of chlorine from the pool does not assault you on the...

Thank you for feedback.

I am extremely disappointed to hear that there were certain aspects in the hotel that did not meet your expectations. I am however confused as to your comments regarding the toiletries as each bedroom has a very nice display of these. It is our aim here at the Gomersal Park Hotel to fulfil our guest’s needs.

I would also like to say that I feel your comments regarding breakfast are very unfair and untrue, the only fried items are the fried bread and eggs as you would expect, there is a large range of cereals, croissants, fresh fruit, cheeses an much more on offer, something to meet everyone’s needs.

As always feedback is always appreciated, both good and bad.

Kind regards
Gavin Jack

WE had our night at Gomersal as a christmas pressy. We arrived around 4pm on the Saturday, we had been called on the Friday to ask if we wanted a table Saturday in the restauraunt and we are so glad we said yes. We used the facilities to the full. The pool is lovely and warm, although would be so much more of an atraction if refurbished but thats a preference not a critism. The massimo restauraunt was out of this world, fantastic food really cant say enough, service was brilliant, the two girls on front of house are centre to the success of the opperation there, they were so obviously busy but there efficiency, professionalism and organisational skills shone through, they so deserve a pat on the back !!!!!! room was comfortable and clean. lovely place would love to go again, well wporth money.

Room Tip: Book a table at the restaurant !!!!!!!!
