My wife and I had a table for two booked for 8pm on a Sunday night in December.
The restaurant was by no means full but there were plenty of people eating so there was no lack of atmosphere.
The warmth and friendliness of the staff was evident from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.
We decided to have the meat meze for 2 people and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Firstly we were served with a dish of mixed olives and chillies. This was quickly followed by a selection of dips served with pieces of pitta bread and a large plate of Greek salad.
I was a little surprised that the Greek salad contained lettuce yet neither contained any green pepper nor any sprinkling of dried oregano. It wasn't drizzled in olive oil either but we were asked if we required any dressing. There was nothing we disliked but having had Greek salads all over Greece this did not seem traditional.
The next platter to be served consisted of chicken pastries, dolmades and kofte. My wife and I both thought that the dolmades were the nicest we had ever had. The vine leaves weren't bitter and the filling was not too heavily minted. It's all a matter of personal taste of course, perhaps they too weren't traditional although we really liked them.
The final course consisted of a chicken kebab each, a skewer laden with succulent chicken beast pieces.
We also had beef stifado which was served with rice.
We were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu but we had no room left!
We have been to this restaurant two or three times before but not recently.
The service during this visit could not be faulted. The friendliness of the staff prompted me to write a review on this occasion as I believe the effort everyone put in is worthy of recognition.
Thank you for an enjoyable evening out!
