“Poor breakfast service”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

We were here to support a fundraiser in Bradley and hotel was only a £5 taxi ride away. Room was adequate and pretty much what you'd expect for the money. Service at the front desk was great but the following morning breakfast hadn't arrived despite a wait of around 30 mins. Waitress taking orders (out of sequence) made eye contact at least 3 times before taking mine. One egg and a slice of toast can't take that long can it? I was told that they were busy but there were only around 10 people seated when I sat down.

I received a phone call soon after arriving home and, expecting an apology perhaps, was amazed when asked if I had smoked in the room. I'm a non smoker and was astonished that housekeeping had reported a smell of smoke.

If I need to visit Bradley again I'd use the hotel but will stick to the continental breakfast.

Room Tip: Room 212 (single) has had a makeover - shower only, no bath.

Thank you for your feedback. We absolutely agree that 30 minutes is far too long to wait for toast and eggs. Please accept our apologies and I can assure you that is not our normal speed, or service.

Also, I am sorry that as a non-smoker you were asked about smoking in your room. As we are a non-smoking hotel we have to be vigilant in ensuring that guests do not smoke in their room. Please accept my apologies that you were called about this.

I am pleased that you would choose to stay with us again and we look forward to welcoming you back.

Central hotel with Prego restaurant attached.Friendly staff.Small ,but adequate hotel for a short stay. Excellant food and a superb full english breakfast. We stayed for a New Years Eve celebration at the hotel and restaurant. We had an excellent night and our stay was very enjoyable. There are chain hotels with more facilities near but we didn't need anything more than this hotel had to offer.

Well i stayed at this hotel for a pre new year function in the towns Ritz Ballroom ( 5 minutes away)...... I paid £50 for a double room which was a fair value and included breakfast.
On arrival at the hotel . there is a large pay and display car park in front of the entrance. This is free overnight but is 60p per hour normally and also serves the town shoppers, so it can be busy but there again spaces do come available.......... The location of the hotel is ideal for the town center.
The reception was a quick check in and i was given a twin room......... I asked reception if they could swap it for a double and they kindly did so.......... The room itself (no 208) is nothing to shout home about and was a bit small for comfort but was functional........ Im sure some rooms are better.....
After check in we sampled the facilities in the bar which is nicely set out adjacent to the restaurant. The bar staff were again very friendly and obliging and offered advice whenever we asked anything.
We later attended the function and returned late.......... The night staff/porter was on duty and although the bar wasn't open generally we were served drinks we could take to our room........We queried breakfast and was told that the breakfast finished at 9 am........... however we were told that if we went in the cafe area of the hotel after this time we could probably get a breakfast anyway as the staff usually can accommodate this.
After that advice we went down for breakfast at 9 .30.am......... and asked for the location of the cafe. The receptionist informed me that the cafe didnt open till 11 am.
OOps......... however she did say the if we went in the restaurant area we probably would get a breakfast as the chef was still on and handnt finished clearing away......... When we went in ( and also another couple did the same) a tall waitress just said bluntly..."Breakfasts closed at 9am" This seemed to roll off her tongue so easily and sharply. I explained re the info about the cafe id been given by the night staff. but this again was cut short. The other couple left the restaurant
At that point the receptionist and chef came in and said we could have food from the serving area which was still full of breakfast items..... This was a nice gesture.
We sat at a table and helped ourselves........... Bacon sausage beans mushrooms and tomato's......which were very nice.
We asked the waitress if we could have some toast only to hear her go into the kitchen area and say "They want toast"........ we had this delivered and that was the last we saw of her. It seemed too much to ask for a cup of tea..........
After breakfast we returned to the room for a nice cuppa.......... and some orange..... as we were parched.
The checkout was efficient.
So all in all i would say apart from one rude waitress who's looks could turn you to stone... all the staff were pleasant, obliging, and did go that extra to make my stay comfortable. The restaurant is a really nice area and i would love to have had a meal there..(italian themed).
The bar likewise.
The room served a purpose.
Would i stay here again . definatley and hope to in the near future............... but must get to breaky before 9 am lol

We stayed here after my Dad's birthday do in the restaurant and had an executive room which was presumably a little bigger than the standard room. At £65 including breakfast it was decent value. A comfortable room, albeit quite hard to find in the labyrinth of corridors, with a decent sized bathroom and a great night's sleep (although I was pretty well oiled before going to sleep so can't really offer a fair comment on this...).

The restaurant is really good and overall it worked well for the occasion. Breakfast was nice although served a little strangely, as you order your eggs and then after they've arrived you help yourself to the rest from the buffet.

I would stay here again if I needed to although I can't see a time when I ever will. Parking is quite hard to find due to the one-way system but once you've sussed it, it makes sense.

Stayed for 1 night with 3 colleagues. Excellent position in centre of town on river, would be lovely to sit outside in summer.
Car park is public but only payable from 8 - 6pm, so free all night.
We had 2 rooms 1 standard which apparently was small & basic
2nd was deluxe in deluxe wing, certainly wasn't the ritz but a lovely spacious room, bathroom was gorgeous with Jacuzzi bath and a power shower to die for,,,had a mini bar too.
Only had breakfast there as ate out, Weatherspoons, which was surprisingly way above normal.

I would stay again

Room Tip: spend extra £20n on Deluxe room,

This had to be by far the best value for money hotel we have stayed in. It was only one night for a wedding nearby. £55.00 with breakfast included was great value. Expected a bog standard room but opened the door top the executive room which was very spacious, clean and tidy and had a bed you could have got lost in.The en-suite was just as impressive very big with a jacuzzi bath and shower. Only used the restaurant for breakfast which was excellent but looking at the menu an evening of dining there wouldn't go amiss.
