Last Thursday we descended as a family on The Great Wall again. This was our third visit and we really enjoyed it again.
The starters went down a storm. The most delicious deep fried squid, (one portion with salt and pepper, the other with sweet and sour sauce), was simply demolished by the kids and the two different ribs dishes tasted distinctly different to each other. Delicious.
For main course we had a beef curry, which was a bog standard chinese takeaway style curry, but the beef was tender. We also had a nice duck with green pepper and black bean sauce, which tasted really authentic. This was backed up with some lovely singapore noodles.
The whole family enjoyed this meal hugely, and there wasn't a duff item on there. Having moved recently to Fixby, between Huddersfield and Brighouse, is is amazing to me that whilst Huddersfield had ten times as many restaurants, Brighouse has a better Italian, Chinese, Indian and Greek. The few restaurants in the town, including this one, are really good.
