We had an a la carte meal here on Saturday night as a party of seven. We were seated upstairs and were really surprised to find the restaurant almost empty. I was initially irritated that they only served small bottled beer but they seemed to get around that by serving you two small carlsbergs to make a pint, at £1.50 each.
The starters, when they came out, were absolutely excellent. I had the mushroom dish which was superb. One of my 5 year olds found the lamb chops too spicy, but when I tasted them they were simply superb: tender and delicious. Everyone round the table demolished them.
The curries were a bit of a mixed bag but overall very good. The lamb garlic butter karai was delicious as was the one, who's name escapes me, with plum chutney. The kids loved the nans although one of their curries was ridiculously sweet.
Overall there was enough quality food on offer here for me to want to go back, although it was a real mystery why the place was absolutely dead on a Saturday night. It was dearer than many curries, but overall justified the price.
