Hotel is good, clean, close to the beach. Breakfast is pretty simple, but it's fine. The only bad thing is that there were geckos (or maybe other animals) living above the ceiling tiles, so we could hear them at night.
Hotel is a short walk to the beach and city center. We recommend eating at the local market like the locals instead of the overpriced restaurants elsewhere.
Separate from the hotel, we were not that impressed with Sao Jao and cut our stay short to go to Laguna Atitlan. The beaches in Sao Jao are not really that great and when the cruise ships come, the town is filled with tourists. Some things that are worth doing there - the sailing trip, a trip to another beach (booked from hostel), and turtles (when in season - also booked from hostel).More
