We stayed here with our two children and it was a perfect way to experience the San Juan Del Sur area of Nicaragua. The house was beautiful- very airy and rustic but with all the amenities. There was a full kitchen so we cooked most of our meals. The beds were very comfortable and there was maid service every other day. They provided filtered water. The beach was really beautiful- we spent most days there. The walk up and down was a little much for the kids, so we drove there. You need a four wheel drive car- essential. The casas are right in the forest, so you hear the sounds at night- it was amazing! It was a perfect combination of rustic and beauty but still very comfortable. If you expect to have meals cooked for you, this is not the place, but it was part of the fun! We would go back in a heartbeat! We want to stay at one of the other casas next time. Amazing place and amazing trip!
Where do I start? We had a phenomenal holiday here, we travelled to Nicaragua last year for our honeymoon, stayed at Casa Colina and loved it soo much we came back for a second trip this year! The casa is an eco lodge, spacious, airy, clean stocked with everything you need for your jungle getaway! It's set in the jungle where you are surrounded by nature, from curious monkeys to butterflys and exotic birds, I have to say it takes your breath away! We loved sitting out and watching the sunsets every evening, its the most relaxing place we've ever been to, if your looking for some night life you can get that in town a 20 min drive into San Juan - It really is the best of both worlds! The beach is a 10 min walk( you can drive also) I have to say its awesome! there are plenty of places to surf too. theres also an infinity pool near the house which is great to cool down in, the view is also amaxing from there.
We rented a Toyota hilux, 4WD is a must on Nica roads, the locals often hitch lifts this way. The eco lodges have 24 hour security its super safe, the guards and staff are helpful and friendly. If you are looking for something off the beaten track, romantic, adventurous then Casa Colina is it! Stock up on food etc in town and you may never have to leave - or use it as a base to explore Nica -we did both!
Honestly can't recommend it enough!
