We would definitely choose another of the many restaurants along the beach in San Juan del Sur. Service and the food were adequate, with the hamburger being a small crispy critter that didn’t begin to cover the bun. Also, our entire lunch was interrupted by a young boy peddling jars purportedly painted by his mother. (She must paint a lot of them, because we saw them everywhere!) We politely told him we were not interested at least four times, and still he would not leave us alone, kept coming back. This was not a relaxing lunch!

I was there this past weekend. the place hasnt changed much in the past 5 years. they did add a second floor terrace, that has a very nice view but its extremely hot. we all oredered diferent dishes ranging from ceviches, to fried whole fish and sea food soups. we were there for an hour and a half. everything came out at different times. the appetizers came with the entree and two of the entree never came at all. the waiter kept excusing himself , "its coming, its coming". we ended up cancelling the order and he had the nerve to offer us to take our orders "to go". of course we didnt, he just didnt want to loose the product and wanted us to pay for it. i asked the waiter and the manager for a disccount since one of us didnt even eat and they basically lauged in my face. i will never come back to this place, and i frequent san juan very often. I hope they take a class in costumer service because they are in desperate need of it!

This is my second time here and it was just as I remembered. First time was around 5 years ago; we had the Arroz a las Brisas Marinas and it was as good as the first time. We ordered two of these plus a fried red snapper. Yummy food. The view is really nice as well.

This place is one of my favorites in San Juan del Sur, we had fried whole fish (Pargo). It comes with rice and plantain. We also ordered the seafood rice YUMMY!!!. What's better than eating fresh seafood and looking at the Pacific Ocean. The price is not bad. Hands down better than El Timon.

The San Juan de Sur beachfront has many bars and restaurants and waiters often wave their menus at passers-by to attract business. One has the choice of reading about a restaurant or just drop by looking at the best view of the beach. This is what we did this evening. Of course we were taking a risk knowing that where it is really nice the food could be very pricey and may not necessarily be very good.
We did well by stopping at this restaurant & bar. They did not have a happy hour like other places and the restaurant/bar was empty. However, it seemed to have a nice sunset checking from the street. Yes, indeed, we had a beautiful sunset, saw the statue of Jesus up on a faraway cliff and then saw two kite surfers way above the cliff. It was a romantic place to have a cocktail and watch the sunset.
We had three beers, one cocktail drink, a clam appetizer, lobster in garlic sauce and a mixed seafood platter. For all this food & drinks including a 10% service charge, we paid $42.00. It was a good deal plus the food was excellent! The portions were reasonable, and the seafood was very fresh.
I strongly recommend this unpretentious restaurant to anybody who would like to have a romantic evening without too much hustle bustle around. Take your camera with you for a good snap-shot of the sunset!
