After staying 1 week at an other "hostel"on Maderas Beach i moved to Maderas Village and I regret that i didnt move there 1 week earlier, the staff, people, the atmosphere is just perfect.
A perfect spot close to the beach with nice and clean doorms/rooms.
Im definitely going back to Maderas Village,

Although this spot is very beautiful and isolated, the vibe at the resort is rather odd for a vacation spot. Most of the guys who run the joint work on their laptops working most of the time (something I was hoping to get away from), they have locals serving their every need (even if they need a beer) which is a bit uncomfortable. They are a relatively insular group of guys and their girlfriends, who do individual trips together, have inside jokes and don't give you much information on the culture of Nicaragua. You don't need to travel this far to hang out with a bunch of Americans and Canadians, you could be just about anywhere.

The locals who work for them are amazing though!

Maderas Village is an amazing combination of quality, culture, relaxation and fun. Owners Dickey and Dave do not settle for anything less than perfection when it comes to the product they deliver, so whether you're looking to relax with loved ones, get away from it all on a yoga retreat, surf on one of Central America's most acclaimed surfing beaches, or hang out in what can only be described as a treehouse for grown-ups, Maderas Village is the place to be. The only reason I would ever give this place less than excellent reviews is to keep it a secret, because it is incredible. I hear they also may be getting an on-site Spanish teacher soon, which would be awesome, because I can't think of a better environment in which one could study the language. Relaxed, beautiful, and genuine- at Maderas Village you really do feel like you're part of the family.

Room Tip: Pizza Night is a MUST!

I visited The Dreamcatch House earlier this summer for a yoga retreat. My experience was absolutely amazing. The service was excellent, the food was FANTASTIC, and the staff were soooo welcoming and down to earth!! Highly recommend!! Excellent choice for a relaxing group getaway!

Everything from the unique thatch hut accommodations, hammocks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and amazing folks that make the place run; this place is awesome. The owners and staff are nothing but helpful, welcoming, fun and chill; you'll be friends with everyone by the end of the first day. We were there to surf, meet fellow travelers, get our yoga on and speak Spanish. This is the place for all of those things. You'll have to search a bit for the spanish portion, however the staff is so great you'll be able to kick up a conversation in no time.

We stayed in one of the Cottages and it was definitely a great and one of a kind experience. Comfortable, remote-feeling with most of the necessities, beautiful wood work, tons of space and good beds.

Be prepared for some internet challenges; however I'm almost positive this is a Nicaragua issue and not Maderas Village, as I personally watched the owners trying to fix downtimes, doing everything they can to make sure their guests are happy.

We were definitely stoked on the food set up as well. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with healthy options; and dinner is served community style with your new friends every night. Be ready for around $20 per day 'cause their set up is pretty much your only option; but it's a great one to have.

Go here, surf here, stay at The Maderas Village; meet new friends, laugh with Black Tsunami, think about never leaving, be enlightened by Black Jesus, learn about local living & speak some spanish by chatting it up with the staff......enjoy.

KM

Room Tip: Cottages were great, but it looked like all of the options were cool depending on what you're looking for; you'll spend most of your time at the community building anyway hanging with the rest of the people. Can't go wrong.
