A beautiful spot to enjoy the Pacific tides and colourful sunsets!

Wade in the water for a swim, or just stroll in the sand. There are a lot of bars/restaurants along the beach offering a variety of food & drink, and a few food carts were operating.

Pristine beach views from a string of restaurants along the beach where you can kick off your shoes and walk barefoot along the beach, have a cocktail during happy hour, have a full meal or snacks. Food is great in every restaurant. I love the city.

Customer service was great! The staff was pending on evrything we need. Food was fantastic. The locations are amazing. You have access to different types of restaurants. Beach was in front of our hotel and people were very kind.

The one mile long crescent beach at SJ del Sur is very attractive from afar. Upon closer examination it is less appealing. The sand is the color of mud, it is extremely shallow at low tide and there is no shortage of garbage. Worst yet, there is a small river feeding into the ocean in the middle. Not knowing what type of effluents the river contains we decided to abandon any thought of getting into the water.

This is not a white sand beach. The waves are small enough to swim, there are no sharks due to the minor polution of boat fuel. They clean the beach every morning, but still not pristine. Suitable for long walks, but never after dark. You may get robbed. Around the middle of the bay the Police has a portable station, and a few officers. The South end has a Malecon with restaurants and benches to sit and watch the sunset. There are numerous restaurants and bars along the beach of various quality. The sunset is beautiful. One of the better beaches if you like to swim.

Keep in mind that you are on the Pacific, and the beaches are simply not going to be as lovely as on the Gulf. It is a nice and clean beach, nonetheless.

The morning after "Sunday Fun Day", the beach is super trashy, which is sad. A few fellow visitors and I were the ones to clean it up, if that says anything. I suppose maybe locals were going to clean it up later, and we just beat them to it, but...

Otherwise, it was a great place to have a Tona and watch the sunset, go for a run in the morning, or play in the waves and swim in the warm water.

Although scenic we were really shocked at the amount of trash. It's such a shame that nothing is done about it.
