“Great beach”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

This beach is not the prettiest compared to the others in the area if only due to its location and the commercial fishing. HOWEVER, it is right next to the city and it is still nestled between some beautifully green hills and the water is very clear for a Pacific beach, at least in terms of California standards. The water is warm and the waves are nice, it is also just a moment away from any hotel in San Juan.

The beach is nice, its not prestine sand, but its well kept. Theres lots of family friendly moms and pops restaurants to eat some fresh seafood. The waves on this beach are really nice, warm water.

“It's a beach”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

The town has some great places to eat and drink but the beach is not all that pretty. Lots of people and dirty. The water was pretty warm in June but kind of muddy. I am sure there are prettier beaches to see in Nicaragua.

“Cold, but nice on a hot day”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

The water is usually nice and cold, with few large waves, so this is not the place to surf. The sand is very dark and fine, so when you swim it looks like you are swiming in mud. The sand also gets into all kinds of crevices. Not the best beach I've been to, but on a sunny hot day, it is very enjoyable.

“Beautiful place!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

A must see when you're travelling to Nicaragua. It's somewhat of a surf town with a lot of small shops selling surf boards and equipment. A must see when you're travelling to Nicaragua.
