The grasslands just beyond Sangke are becoming a tourist attraction for Chinese touring groups and are not very interesting, especially in summer (when all yaks are moved to the summer grasslands). The real beautiful area are the (much higher) summer grasslands of Sangke, about 30-40km (guestimate) beyond Sangke. Here you can watch the grasslands as far the eye can reach dotted with scattered nomad tents and with beautiful mountain ranges is the far distance. The Nirvana hotel can help you getting there and visiting very hospitable tibettan nomad families in their summer tents. It really is an amaizing area to explore.
