“AMAZING!!!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

We stumbled upon this gem on a visit to Bald Eagle State Park. It's the BEST B & B we've ever been to including some in New England. It's nestled away in the woods so it's very peaceful and quiet as well as surrounded with all the beauty and fun that nature can provide! Breakfast is amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Comfort and beauty abound as far as the eye can see and the rooms are as comfy as they come! I love that each room has either a balcony or a patio, a ceiling fan, frig, microwave and that the quests can use the gas grills and gorgeous fire pit outside. The icing on the cake is that this facility is so environmentally friendly! Way to go Nature Inn...YOU ROCK!!!! We will def be visiting several times a year! :)

Room Tip: If you plan on eating in your room, we recommend a mini suite so you have a table and chairs. Also...

My husband and I visited the Nature Inn at Bald Eagle for an anniversary getaway. I found it quite by accident while doing an internet search for b&b's in central PA, and am I glad I did! Not only was the building beautiful, and the staff warm and welcoming, but the entire facility is "green," which was amazing. We learned quite a bit just reading the various explanatory plaques throughout the building. We also spent several hours exploring various trails within the park. Since we were there during a time when there were only a few rooms filled, our breakfasts were made to order. Overall, we just can't say enough good things about our experience. We are already looking at dates for a return visit.

Room Tip: Check out the website, and look at the floor plans. There's something to suit everyone.

The hotel is located in the Beautiful Bald Eagle State Park- a four season location.
This is a "green" facility that promotes minimal impact on the environment with no inconvenience to guests. It is both an enjoyable and inspiring facility. From the moment you enter the lobby you sense the warmth of both the staff and the hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable-truly relaxing-quiet balconies and patios compliment most rooms. Amenities are fun-sit around an open fire pit, have a BBQ or just enjoy the area. The staff is friendly and accommodating-they truly enjoy making you feel welcome. I stayed at this hotel for business, but it is recommended for family stay. you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Plan on exploring the State Park and nearby State Forests

My husband and I travel from Connecticut to Michigan two or three times a year. We now make it a point to spend a night or two at the Nature Inn during each leg of these trips. We love the hotel - very attractive and comfortable- and the staff is warm and wonderful. We learned of the Inn, soon after it opened, from an article in a Pittsburgh paper. We had been driving on route 80 for years, but were unaware of the Pennsylvania Wilds and Bald Eagle state park! We are so glad to become acquainted with them - Pennsylvanians can be proud of this heritage. One day we would like to spend more time at the Inn with friends or family. It would be ideal for a family reunion. We usually like to book a small suite which makes for very comfortable TV viewing and Web surfing. It is extremely spacious for two people and would be very adequate for a small family. We usually enjoy a view of the lake - very special indeed. We last stayed at the Inn in mid-October and are looking forward to returning to it in early-January.

Your review is very appreciated and we agree, Pennsylvanians have a lot to be proud of where the Pennsylvania Wilds are concerned and Bald Eagle State Park is no exception. The Inn is a perfect location for a Family Reunion - everyone can have breakfast together in our dining room, spend the day hiking, picnicing, beaching or on a boat in the lake we overlook and finish the day out grilling in our outdoor kitchen and roasting marshmallows at our firepit. And our different sized rooms can accomodate familes of all sizes. We hope to see you soon on your next Connecticut/Michigan trek!

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Nature Inn in late August. The staff was great, the room was clean, and the free breakfast was tasty with adequate variety. The setting is beautiful. We especially enjoyed the lake and the various nature trails. We are looking forward to seeing more similar accomodations in PA state parks, but for now, Nature Inn is quite a unique experience in our great state of PA.

I tried to plan a trip with accomodations for elderly ladies with a variety of garden variety aging problems, ie hearing, can't walk too far and blindness. It really met our needs. It would work well for a reunion. People who can afford the inn can stay there and there is alos a camping alternative on the other side of the lke. The inn has a spectacular view and a wonderful porch and grilling area. We were able to grill our meals for the most part. We will return.

Room Tip: ask for a lake view

The hotel is amazing. Beautiful modern architecture awash with wood, stone and glass. Beautiful views of the lake and warmth inside. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The building is LEED certified and green in every way - saving energy, water and reducing waste - but you wouldn't know it. No sacrifice of comfort. They have special amenities that you don't see at other places. For example an out-door cooking area where you can party. Well worth spending a couple of relaxing days. Oh, yes, it is in the middle of a state park, so hiking, boating and bird watching is right out the door.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side overlook the lake, but those on the other side have beautiful gardens.
