My wife and I decided to stop there one evening to try it out because we heard it was so good. Well...we found out different. We went on a Friday last month and decided on the fish. The fish was prepared from a box of frozen fish, then to accompany it, was frozen vegetables and instant mashed potatoes. For desert the pie was good, but not the best. I wouldn't recommend this place for dinner, however, my daughter has eaten here for breakfast and she said the pipelines were excellent. I can only comment on my experience though.

The 230 Cafe has the best breakfast in the area -not to mention the yummy sticky buns made on most Wednesdays. The service is friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. The Café is always full of locals - a great place to see old friends and make new ones. The desserts are scrumptious, too! The café is small, but cozy and quaint. It is a gem.

One of the few eateries in this area that serves made from scratch delicious food. The place is small but that adds to the charm. You get to meet nice people and have a great breakfast, lunch or dinner. The soups are off the hook!

A great little home-town diner. Seating is cozy, leaning toward tight. I always enjoy the the banter of the locals almost as much as the food. Good home-style cooking. Be prepared to wait a bit, especially if you are going for breakfast. We have never had a bad meal here. Portions are large so we usually get one of the wonderful desserts to go , and enjoy it later. The chicken pot pie is a favorite as is the bacon, egg and cheese bagel. We have called ahead for the bagel sandwich for our morning in the park, and it is hot and ready to go as we walk in the door.

The location is right on the Main Street or Route 230. Highspire’s only living legend of having spawned some 50 years of serving hometown food. The loyalty of the customers shines as you walk into the dining area, I have been told anytime you walk in the door seating is always limited. You have to check out the Pipeliner for breakfast if your mighty hungry, try the small order if your appetite is a bit less. Oh and those scrumptious desserts, made right in the kitchen by staff that take that extra dash of pizzazz to touch your taste buds. If you walk away hungry it is your own fault all of the servings are more then enough for a hungry man or woman.
Parking is around the side on Ann Street and behind the restaurant with ample spaces including employees. Seating in the dining area is facing route 230 so lots of action can be observed during business hours from about 6 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week!
Ask anyone in the restaurant about the history of the place as it seems the previous 2nd owner, a wife and husband were not making much money when the husband went to work for the Alaska Pipeline. After 4 years of working on the pipeline a few recipes and names of the operations have made their way to Highspire’s 230 CAFÉ menu.
