Spent two nights here - Aug 25 & 26 - with my wife and 3 boys (ages 8, 6, and 3). Prior to booking, I called the hotel to find out a bit more information about the rooms, and was told that rooms with a microwave and refrigerator were more newly renovated. So we booked one of those and we weren't disappointed. Our room had 2 queen beds and we were able to get a rollaway ($15 more a night) for our oldest son. So things were a bit tight but livable. The room itself was what we'd hoped - pretty standard Comfort Inn type room but quite clean and as advertised "newly appointed". Everything worked fine, and I was pleased at the quality of the broadband wireless internet connection. Breakfast was popular with the family - in addition to standard continental fare there are four Belgian waffle irons that guests are free to use and the waffles were pretty good! We didn't use the indoor pool but the pool area looked decent enough.
Very close to Hershey Park (about 2 miles straight down the main road) with restaurants like Applebees, Pizza Hut, Papa John's and other similar and fast food options very nearby. Guests can use a nearby Gold's Gym for $5/day.
In a nutshell, it was what we hoped for. A bit pricey for a Comfort Inn, but that seems to be the cost of staying near to Hershey Park.

We decided to go to Hershey into the summer vacation season and the rooms at the Hotel Hershey and the Hershey Lodge were booked solid. So, after research we decided on the Comfort Inn at the Park (Comfort Inn Hershey). We liked the fact that it was a non-smoking property. The one good thing about the hotel was the breakfast-amazing what was included for free and very good. That was the only good part. The pool looks nice, but was so slippery to even walk around it and there was hair, old band-aids, etc... all over. The rooms had a slight smell that they tried to cover up with a hidden air freshener we found. The sheets were stained on both beds. The bathroom did not even feel clean to be in-very visible dirt in the corners, toilet and in the tub and leftover hair. The staff was nice and we were glad we were only in the room to just sleep and nothing else. The view is a parking lot and the local K-Mart. The windows do not open and no balconies. There are hotels that are closer and newer. We would definitely say someplace else next time. The room cleaning between the days we were there you could tell they did not clean a thing and did not even make the beds-just pulled up the sheets. Our advice is to try someplace else without a doubt.

This is a great place to stay. We stay there everytime we go to hershey park. The rooms are always clean, the staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast in the morning is perfect.

Overall a great place to stay. A little pricey during the hershey park season but otherwise reasonable.

We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews and wondering if we'd made the right choice. Hotel is about 5 minutes from Hershey and in a great location near restaurants and stores. We had a standard room with two beds and a microfridge. The service was excellent.

The room was clean and we liked having the sink outside the shower/tub/toilet. Our kids loved the indoor pool, although it was on the small side and became crowded quickly when it rained outside. The breakfast was also quite nice (the kids loved making waffles) but we recommend you get there early as it gets crowded later in the morning and isn't as enjoyable. If your kids opt to feed the ducks -- be careful, they will nip at little fingers!

Check around for lower rates because Choice Hotels offers a low rate guarantee on their website and they honor it! We ended up getting our room $70 cheaper than people we knew who ended up in an identical room right across the hall from us.

I know that I'm late with this review but I feel as though I should put people's minds at ease. I stayed at this hotel back in November 2004. Even though this is an older hotel it seems to be very well maintained. I didn't experience anything that the other reviewers had experienced. There was no mold that I could tell, the housekeeping department cleaned the rooms very well, the front desk staff, the continental breakfast was fine, and everybody else who worked at the hotel seemed friendly. This is coming from somebody who has worked in the hotel business in Florida for ten years. Comfot Inn is part of Choice Hotels and personally I would suggest goign through [--]for reservations using the internet users rate. Going through that web site will let you know what's really available at the hotel. Using the internet users rate will give you a fair price. There is also an internet rate guarantee on the web site as well. This hotel is just fine. Relax, stay here, and enjoy the area. The hotel is just fine. If you have any problems, just calmly report it to the front desk and they will do everything they can to help out. That's what they are there for. Enjoy, the Comfort Inn is a good hotel.
