Ate lunch here just to get away from the noise and hubbub in the park. Food was pretty bad. Gave two stars because our server was pleasant. It was quiet and air conditioned at least, but I doubt if the food was any better than the counter service in the park.

My family and I came across this on the way into the park. We sat down. It took 15 min for a waitress to ask us for our drink order. We had to put our food order with our drink order because service was terrible. Well, it took over an hour of waiting for our foodfor the waitress to tell us our food would be 3 more mins. My kids were anxious to go to the park which was closing in 3 hours. Told her keep the food and we walked out. Wouldn't recommend eating here!

Hersheypark Place is right outside the gates of Hersheypark. It is the perfect place for eating before going into the park for your preview time or before returning to the park at night. It is also perfect for kids. Otherwise, do not expect much more. The food is ok, the service is ok. Nothing spectacular except for the desserts.

I was travelling with a party of 14 and I knew I needed to make a dinner reservation somewhere. We were staying the weekend, so getting a reservation for that many people on a Saturday night is challenging. We had 6 kids ranging from 7 to 14. This was perfect for them. It was very kid friendly. They had characters walking around that you could take pictures with. The kids loved it. The service was surprisingly good for being such a large party. The food was average at best, but it's a restaurant at an amusement park. It is what it is and it is not trying to be anything but.

We had a 6 pm reservation. We had appetizers, dinner and dessert and were out by 7:15. We had 3.5 more hours to enjoy the park (and it was basically empty - no waits on most rides!).

If you have young children or are a large group with children, this is a very convenient place to eat. The kids will enjoy themselves, treat yourself to some dessert, and just relax before going in to the park. It's an otherwise very average dining experience.

I went a few weeks ago with husband and two kids (ages 7 and 4). The food is similar to a chain restaurant - nothing extraordinary but decent overall. I had the 1/2 sandwich and salad (salad dressing had chocolate in it but was hard to taste). Husband had ribs, also with hard to taste chocolate sauce. Kids had kid meals, pretty standard. However, the desserts were what sold the place for us. We got the peanut butter pie and smores cobbler. Both were divine and had large portions - we couldn't finish them, even though we wanted to. The décor was cute - kids liked looking at the characters on the walls. Service was good, waitress was attentive. We had a reservation so no problem getting a table. I'd recommend to families looking for a place to just relax at the end of the day and away from the insanely priced food within the park.

This is one of the few air conditioned places to eat in Hershey Park but it's just outside the park entrance which makes it great for specific situations but most people will pass this by because, if you are already out of the gates, you would just keep going and eat outside the park. If you are coming to the park, just keep going in and have the same food. While Hershey isn't a foodie paradise, you can generally throw a dart out the window and hit a place with better food than at an amusement park. However, if you are waiting for someone and trying to get out of the July heat, or (as was our case) killing some time with dinner prior to going to a kiddie concert at the stadium, then this place does the trick. The food is ok...basically bar food not significantly different than anywhere else in the park but unlike all but a few places (3 maybe) in the park, this place actually has beer. I think Bud Light was $5.75 and Troegs Pale Ale was $6 (oddly little difference). You need a few beers before going to a Teen Nick concert with 10K screaming kids. Had the french dip which was supposed to be a 'specialty' of the place. Was edible but that's it. Had the pretzel sticks with some sort of beer cheese, whiz and mustard dipping sauces and they were actually pretty good.

Unlike some of the other reviews, our server was excellent but she was a adult (local teacher) and not a high school kid. They did a couple birthdays around our area. We made reservations from the cabana club in the waterpark but they weren't needed as the place was less than half full at 6:30 PM on a FRI. Had some people dressed up in candy bar costumes posing with the kids (mine liked that). Bathrooms were a mess (unlike those in the rest of the park). Rated it average with the caveat that this is average for amusement park food and not for a regular, reservation-accepting restaurant. This isn't a destination you would come to for a night out....it's a life-saving, air conditioned oasis that serves beer so your family doesn't perish walking in 98F from the waterpark to your hot car that's still another mile away in the parking lot.
