Chocolatier Milton Hershey opened Hershey Park in 1904. It has continued to add rides and other attractions ever since.

I remember listening to the Big Bands brought to Hershey through the 50s including Duke Ellington, Harry James, Count Basie, the Dorsies, and many others. What great concerts!

Recently, I returned to Hershey, re-toured the fabulous Chocolate World, visited the zoo, and enjoyed two of the more than half-dozen super coasters. There are a few that rival the fastest, scariest coasters in the country. I didn't ride those!

If you want an exciting, memorable day and you are anywhere in the region, please go to Hershey. There are accomodations nearby and the smell of chocolate fills the air.

Incidentally, Hershey now owns many of the OTHER candy brands, and sells them all at Hershey Park - and elsewhere - providing them an indefinite lifespan.

I feel that it is expensive to take a family of four or five. We usually go to Chocolate World for the tour and a treat and sometimes visit the gardens which are beautiful so it is always a nice visit to Hershey, but all of these experiences do hit you in the pocketbook.

Have been attending the zoo for over 30 years, and have been an animal handling volunteer for 22 years. Enjoy all of the displays and the occasional interaction with the animals. It is another relaxing place to walk.

We enjoy taking our 3 year old granddaughter alot. No matter how many times she goes she is always excited to see her animal "friends". The staff is always friendly and the grounds are always well kept.
