“Chocolate Lovers' Paradise”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

Chocolate is everywhere at this hotel...upon checkin, at turndown, and even the butter in the restaurant is chocolate butter (which we loved).
A disappointing start to our stay: our room had a strong chemical smell when we entered and it was too strong to stay. I returned to the front desk and they quickly apologized and moved us to another room which was lovely. No smell and very clean, but we had to navigate about four hallways and two sets of stairs to reach it. wow. This hotel is like a maze!
The service was excellent, and the pools and mini golf a lot of fun. We liked it so much we extended our stay another night.

We were looking for a nice cozy place for a short getaway and the Hershey Lodge was the perfect place. Upon arriving you can see how nice they keep the grounds and the Christmas decorations are beautifully done. The check in staff were friendly and treated us as if we were long time guests and made us feel at home. This helped set the tone for our stay. Our room was excellent and clean. We were surprised to find a Happy Anniversary card in the room signed by the staff - a very nice surprise. All staff was friendly and spoke to us whether we were just walking in the halls or sitting by the fireplace. One young lady offered to take our picture in front of the fireplace. Food and service was excellent in Lebbie's. Hershey Lodge is located in a good spot to make a short trip to all of Hershey's attractions. From the staff's friendliness at check-in to our checkout we had an excellent get away and we would recommend staying here.

This place is absolutely an amazing, fun and relaxing place. Went for a birthday weekend getaway, from the the restaurant staff to the lobby staff, managers, etc...all people are there to help and serve you. The food at their restaurants is first class and they have a very nice selection of wines and beers. I am from NYC and often dine at upscale restaurants in the city. The food we had at the lodge restaurant, Hershey Grill was outstanding and service was first class!

I fell in love with the Hershey Lodge. We’ve been home almost 5 days, and I’m still sulking. The place is beautifully decorated, with the scent of chocolate piped into the lobby (I’d whine about that not being fair but they give you chocolate immediately at the check-in desk so as to stop the torture), and a roaring fireplace surrounded by elegant wingback chairs. The rooms were luxurious, clean, and impeccably decorated. They think of everything; there’s even Hershey Kiss wallpaper in the bathroom!
We went just for one night, to see the Hershey’s Sweet Lights and go to the zoo and Chocolate World in the a.m. We had a great (though super-overpriced) dinner at the lodge in the Bear’s Den, and then had breakfast at Lebbie’s in the a.m. An additional bonus was the character who came strolling through the lobby on the way out-adorable!
Cons: Rooms not exactly quiet; we could hear the conversations of people who walked by our door. Pillows were a little hard.

Hershey Lodge is an awesome destination for families and caters to children, especially during the holidays. High-energy kids overflow the festively-decorated lobby and the restaurants. The place definitely has holiday spirit, but it's noisy, with little ones running up and down the guest room hallways late into the evening. More suitable for couples is the beautiful (but pricier) Hotel Hershey on the hillside overlooking town. We stopped at their cozy Iberian Bar for a drink and wished we could have stayed longer. However, back at the Lodge, the Hershey Grill put out a great meal. Just wish we had ponied up the bucks for the nicer lodging option. It would have been far more relaxing.

My friend and I went to Hershey for the spa. We chose to book through the lodge to take advantage of their spa package. It was a great deal. With the credit that we got towards the spa, it was like we got a room for free one night. We definitely will return, this time with the family. Maybe......

Room Tip: Use the spa packages. Best value for money.
