Well maintained, beautiful property, inside and out. We were there to meet with friends. Lodge was not very busy during our stay. No conventions going on. We visited the beautiful Hershey gardens. Still lots of roses and other flowers in bloom. Took the free chocolate tour. Fun. Had lunch at the Grille restaurant. Fairly good. Dinner at the magnificent Hotel Hershey. Lunch there next day on the terrace. Great view of hills and area below from terrace. Huge, perfectly cared for flower baskets and potted flowers everywhere. Food very good.
I loved the drive through the countryside as we approached Hershey. Huge fields, mostly of corn, barns and stone houses, wide open space.
Was interested to learn that upon his death Mr. Hershey left all his millions to start a school for disadvantage children.More
