Nice place. Romantic atmosphere, nice presentation, low noise level. Very good food for the area but just average by foodie standards.

It's all in the presentation and the chef does a terrific job. The steak was excellent and so were the seared shrimp and scallops. There is quite a selection of desserts so order two and share. The portion is just right since we were quite full after our entrees. They serve French-press coffee which was very good, even for decaf. A lovely place for a romantic celebration.

We had dinner here, and we can't rave enough about how wonderful this experience was. We can't wait to go back and possibly spend an overnight.

The restaurant, atmosphere, staff and service is wonderful. The menu is outstanding and every course is better and better. Food is tasty, delicious, inviting, so fresh and the herbs and preparation is fantastic. We had for appetizers the Mussels and Trout Salad. Our main meals were the grilled chicken breast and the chicken leg. The chicken was prepared perfectly and so fresh and the vegetables unbelievably good and different. We had the English Toffee w/Caramel for dessert---great and of course, delicious French Press Coffee and Tawny Port. This is a must place to go for dinner---we can't wait to return. We were there on a Sunday, but we did see a Piano in the dining area, so we might want to go back on perhaps a Saturday when they have the Pianist---which would have made it 100% plus.

Our waitress told us that it is so wonderful at Halloween and Thanksgiving. Also they do a Victorian Christmas with Carolers, which is definitely on our list for December. We are considering an overnight, but the only minus is that it is 3 stories and no elevator, so we might have to think about that as my husband has difficulty walking up too many steps, but he might be able to manage it.

If you are in the area of Hawley, Pennsylvania---do not miss dining at the Settler's Inn.

But I didn't understand why the Chef kept putting stone fruit in so many entrees. It happened both at dinner and at breakfast, and the fruit wasn't where you would expect it (ie. in a baked good or dessert) but instead in an omelet with bacon, carmelized onion, and goat cheese. I didn't get it at all.

My friend and I took a day trip into the Poconos and stopped at the Settler's Inn for lunch. The food was very fresh and well prepared. We enjoyed it very much, especially sitting on the deck with a lovely view of the gardens. We would definitely go back!
