“Great BYOB!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2014

My friends and I go out for dinner every Friday evening. We like to frequent BYOBs, because we're not only foodies but also winos, who like to try specific varietals, etc. We recently went to What If Café, and it was one of the best Friday evenings ever! The food was fantastic and our server was extraordinary! Thank you so much for a wonderful, intimate place that offers excellent cuisine!

“Disappointing Luncheon”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2014

Always loved this place and the food - recommended it to a group that goes out for lunch and was so disappointed. The waitress (silent partner?) today may have been having a bad day but she was absolutely rude to us. Got there and there were not enough spaces set - this may have been due to some of our group not responding but then showing up - not the fault of What If. Anyhow, in an effort to be helpful some of our group was going to help and the waitress screamed "don't touch those tables and chairs" - for insurance purposes. It could have been said in a nice way. Then we had a lady on a wheelchair and she couldn't open the door for her to get in - had to go for help. Announced it would be cash only - can't take more than two credit cards for a group this size. Someone asked what the soup of the day was - she said "I'm taking drink orders now" and wouldn't tell them. Told us Tuesdays are their busy day - didn't seem to be anyone else there except us (we arrived for an 11:30 reservation to beat the "no show" crowd). It still wasn't busy when we left. With all the restaurants in this area they don't have to worry about our group (15 at least) returning after that kind of rudeness. The food was good and I think we all enjoyed it, but the service left a lot to be desired. The other gal took orders on my side of the table and had finished by the time the silent partner had only taken 3 orders. Sure hope this is not her normal way to treat customers.

“Great Food and Great Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2014 via mobile

The hotel we stayed at suggested we eat here. We fully enjoyed ourselves and the atmosphere was just right. It wasn't crowded and the food was perfect. The next we are in the area we will be eating here again.

“Great Alternative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2014

Looking for something different...not fast, pizza, subs, etc. Should be rated higher on tripadvisor. What a terrific choice for a tasty and fresh variety without breaking the bank. The efficient and friendly service demonstrated a well orchestrated team as they handled a nice lunch crowd easily. You'll not go away hungry. Try it :-).......BTW..this gem is easy to miss as the ample parking and cafe are separated by a small building.

“extremely accommodating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

When a traffic accident took us off our beaten path, we decided to stop in at this gem of a restaurant that we always seem to forget about. Upon arriving, they said they had 2 holiday parties that were scheduled in about 45 minutes and not accommodating any walk-ins.. We promised to eat and leave if they could fit us in....and they did. :) The lobster ravioli was incredibly rich and delightful, while my husband's crab cake/filet was the perfect combo to satisfy all his tastebuds. But the BEST part of our meal was the mussels marinara....absolutely the BEST marinara sauce that I have had in years (so thankful they served it with a spoon so I could scoop up every bite). The server was very attentive even though she was busy setting up for the parties. We will not forget about this place in the future.
