Went to enjoy a nice meal with the fiance. Over all pretty good, some things could have been better. They have free valet parking or they will validate in their garage.
Their menus are all on tablets which is pretty neat. A tap on the menu item and a picture of it would show up. It might be a new system or something because the tablets would freeze up for a few seconds and become unresponsive, enough to be annoying, but not enough for me to throw the thing out and ask for a paper menu.
We were seated in a smallish dining room by the bar that looks out onto 2nd st. The tables for 2 were very close together, almost uncomfortably so. If you're not careful and you're squeezing between tables you may bump over your neighbors drink.
We started off with baked oysters. Some kinda of spinach and cream with panko on top for crunch. Nothing spectacular.
I ordered the 21 day dry aged strip steak, medium rare, "Mane" preparation. The steak was cooked perfectly! The "Mane" prep (+$6) didn't seem worth it, you get a shelled lobster claw about 5" long, and the steak is crusted in horseradish/butter, that's it. Unfortunately, I was expecting too much from a "dry aged" steak.
My fiance got the ribeye steak, medium rare, point reyes preparation. Her steak was also cooked to perfection. The point reyes was bursting with flavor, it has a blue cheese crust, roasted potatoes and asparagus. The steak was fatty and super juicy.
Our total bill came out to be about $150 with tip for two. Pricey...worth it? I think i'll need to try it again to be sure.
