It is worth a splurge to enjoy this restaurant if staying at the Hilton in Harrisburg. Service is exceptional and the cuisine is excellent.

“Well Worth It’s Stars”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

It is easy to see why this restaurant has earned 4 AAA stars over many years, even though located off a hotel lobby. The staff was pleasantly attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable. The food was well-prepared and delicious. They have a fabulously long wine list with a reasonable, but not extensive choice of wines available by the glass. Ambience is a bit lacking in that the space is small and the decor mid 20th century “hotel chic.” On a Thursday evening, there were only two other tables occupied, so we were seated near the door obviously to entice more diners. A party of six was loud and we could hear their conversation quite well. When the room is filled, noise might be problem.

“Where was the service”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

The food is always outstanding and the service is usually outstanding as well. During my last visit the service was questionable but the food remained very good. They were busier than usual so maybe that was the issue.

“Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

For a Hilton hotel restaurant, it has the most impressive wine list I've seen in a while. The food choices were excellect with some prime cuts listed on the menu. The wine selections were sublime. Service was excellect and overall I had a wonderful dining experience.

“More fine dining than a typical hotel restaurant”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

Located in the Hilton at Harrisburg's Market Square, the Golden Sheaf is one of several restaurants in the building. I've been to other eateries in the hotel, but never this one. Thanks to Harrisburg's Restaurant Week promotion, I paid a visit.

The place is pretty small, compared to the other spots in the Hilton. But the decor is clean and attractive. The staff is smartly dressed and very attentive, but maybe a little too aloof. I like to banter with the wait staff and feel welcomed, and this time I was just "served."

The bottle of wine we enjoyed (Kendall Jackson Chardonnay) was pretty reasonably priced. The food (we ate from a prix fixe menu because of the promotion) was excellent.

This was a really nice experience, and I'm glad I did it. The Golden Sheaf will definitely be on my list of places to return to.
