“Can be outstanding, but is frequently inconsistent.”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

I used to eat here regularly, but since Home 231 opened around the corner it's been a while. When they are on their game, the crew at Mangia does a terrific job, innovating on traditional brunch dishes. I was a huge fan of the smoked salmon Benedict. But service was a constant issue there, and long, long waits for the food were common. The kitchen was clearly disorganized, and you might get your dish ice cold, as it clearly had been sitting on the counter for 15 minutes while your tablemate's dish was being finished. Not acceptable. Not at a greasy spoon, and certainly not at an upscale place like this.

I regret having to make these criticisms, because when it opened, Mangia was by far the best thing going in Harrisburg for Sunday brunch. But the frequent letdowns on both food and service have really damaged their reputation and my opinion of them. I have friends who refuse to go at all now for the reasons I've given here, and I can't blame them. Take a chance, you might have a wonderful meal. Or you might not.

“Great Sunday Brunch”
Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

This place is delicious! Not your standard offerings for Brunch. The "El Benedicto" was fabulous. Prices were pretty reasonable for food (average entre is $12-15, however, be sure to ask about prices on the specials that aren't on the menu). Cocktails are very expensive, however the $9 Bloody Mary was the best I've ever had. After ordering, be prepared for a wait before your food comes. Parking is a little difficult as it is mostly street parking as are most of the places in downtown Harrisburg. Also, the place is small, so reservations are a great idea! I will definitely be going back at some point and would recommend Mangia Qui to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

My favorite place in the city of Harrisburg for a creative northern Italian dinner. Don't expect any red sauce specials here. The chef prepares fresh dishes nightly based on availability of the local fresh vegetables and seafood. Unique combinations of herbs, cheeses and spices that makes the food "pop".
There is a very nice wine selection available by glass or bottle to complement your dinner. A small bar is available if you prefer that type setting.
Upstairs is a Tapas bar that has a completely separate menu which is also very imaginative a delicious!

“Nice Sunday brunch”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Our gang was passing through on our way home from college graduation. I've come to rely on TA as a reliable font of ideas and this was no exception. I was drawn to Mangia Qui by the favorable ratings on its brunch and the promise of tapas, a favorite of my son, who was part of the gang.

Mangia Qui has a relaxed atmosphere and what I would call an eclectic crowd, at least that morning. The place is swarming with wait staff, so service was quick and efficient. Half of our party took advantage of the bar to order colorful drinks. The menu was interesting and diverse - from simple to inventive. The nine of us all gave our foods a "thumbs up."
