We enjoyed visiting this restaurant that so many hold very dear to them. The seating area is small and cramped but the staff and other guests were so friendly and pleasant. The pizza was terrific and less is more in terms of topping. We had two pizzas one with just one topping and one with two toppings. The one topping pizza was better and you could really enjoy the flavor of the sauce. Beers were a great bargain. As we were dining, indeed we met someone who grew up in Harrisburg and always make this small establishment his first stop when returning to his hometown! We arrived early but the restaurant quickly filled up on a Tuesday evening. What a nice change of pace to go somewhere with such a loyal crowd and no frills, but just great food!

Who says there are no culinary delights in Pennsylvania's capital? The Subway Cafe isn't a fast food joint, doesn't resemble a subway car, and probably will never serve up a latte. But if you want good slow food that is consistently high quality at the most affordable price points, this is a must see, stop, and taste. Pizza and pasta are stapes of the Subway and draft beer that provides the perfect pairing. The ideal place to visit solo or with a party of10+. You'll find the service quality matches the food. All good.

hoestly speaking, we've ever been there twice. the first time with my family for a birthday party. they served a good atmosphere for us, spending two hours there. the second time was dinner with friends. we ordered pizza and coffee. i think the pizza is better than coffee there, you may have a try.

If you have never gone to the Subway Cafe, you must order the pizza. It's very different from the average pizza shop pizza. Be sure to say HI to Scotty, the bartender. They also have a great salad, and be sure to order their homemade dressing!
