“Amazingly preserved historic home, near Harrisburg pa!”
Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

Fort hunter mansion I actually found using trip advisor mobile, trying to find something to do early on a Saturday. The mansion was beautiful, and contained lots of actual pieces from the home not just period furniture. The mansion and grounds are stately, and right on the shore of the beautiful Susquehanna. The admission is $5, and the in depth tour lasts probably about an hour and fifteen minutes. The staff is very knowledgeable, and have many interesting stories about the history of this once prominent Harrisburg family.

“A good stop while in Harrisburg”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We stopped to view this home as part of a one day tour of Harrisburg. While the home was not open, we toured the grounds, peeked in the windows and enjoyed the beautiful view of the Susquehanna River. It was a very nice stop.

“Dauphin County Wine and Music Festival”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

This is a great location for both the wine and music festival and a visit to see historical buildings with the family. They have various events going on throughout the year but the one we like is the wine and music fest. They have many local wineries for tasting, food and craft vendors, and great music. You can take your own picnic basket too if you want to save money.

“Along the Susquehanna River”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

I love this park, the view of the river, family activities, craft shows and special events. But mostly I love a cup of coffee or a cool drink and an afternoon stop in the park just to sit.
