“Easy to find independent bookstore”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

There are a great many new and used books in this bookstore, which also sells drinks and snacks. Many books on art, movies, classics, etc., plus children's books and much more, with specialty books rather than more mainstream titles when we were there. Lots of chairs, and there is free WiFi. Great place to stop and browse.

“Book Lovers Paradise”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Book Lovers beware! If you enter here, you will find it difficult to leave. Beautiful facility. We loved discovering hidden treasures on all the various levels. Browsing is encouraged, but If you need assistance, it is readily available. I loved the huge poetry and art section. If you are in a hurry, access their online site a few days before your visit and they will pull the books you want and have them waiting for you in the store. But really - it's so much more fun exploring the stacks yourself.

“Amazing selection”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

The Midtown Scholar is almost as impressive as Powell's. They have tons of levels and books in every category imaginable. It's easy to spend hours here just browsing. They also have a room with rare books and prints, which is pretty neat to look at.
