“Great little hotel at an exceptional value.”
Reviewed February 7, 2010

We chose this hotel after having trouble deciding between hotels in downtown Harrisburg and Hershey. This appeared to be a halfway point although it was really much closer to Harrisburg. It was a little removed from the exit so driving up we weren't sure what to expect...what a great surprise! The lobby is very modern and inviting. Felt more like South Beach then Harrisburg, PA! The rooms are huge with very high ceilings, a separate seating area and separate toilet room. The beds are super comfortable with a nice down comforter and plenty of pillows. My husband went on and on about the shower - it was extra tall and had a very cool "rainfall" shower head. For the price, you cannot beat this hotel! Absolutely would recommend to anyone.

Stayed here for one night for business travel; i'm in the area frequently and will stay again The hotel is brand new, need I say more. The beds are great, decor is contemporary and they are right off of I81. They offer a free breakfast in the morning, coffee all day. There is not a restaurant on site, only one fast food place within walking distance. However, there is a Damons, Macaroni Grill and Cracker Barrel 2 miles from the hotel.

If you're getting your directions from a GPS or various mapping websites, be very cautious-- there are two Spring Hill Suites in the Hershey Harrisburg area and my GPS, Blackberry, mapquest.com and my boyfriend's iPhone all tried to send us to the wrong one, and didn't have directions to this one! So when you enter the address, make sure you verify the address, or follow the directions on the hotel website.

Once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised; I am a bit of a hotel snob and usually don't like SpringHill Suites, but this hotel was pretty unexpected. The lobby area is ultra-modern, with water themes and overall a very elegant, relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are very large with a good-size divider between the living area and the sleeping area. While I would have preferred an actual suite with separate rooms and a door in between, I think my expectations are just off on that topic. But I felt like the room was properly planned to give privacy in the sleeping area while making the living area warm and inviting. The furniture in the living area wasn't the most comfortable but we were actually working from the hotel for 2 days and most folks are not going to spend 9 hours in a row on the hotel couch with their laptop :D

The rooms were also very stylish and super clean. The bathroom had an oversized shower stall with good pressure but there are two "water massage" type spouts at about shoulder-height which I think are more for show than anything, as the pressure from the massage spouts is barely noticeable.

Breakfast was about what I expected from this type of hotel: pastries, cold cereals, bagels, some egg patties and sausage to make a small sandwich. Make your Own Waffles was a nice touch. My only real disappointment was that the breakfast buffet seemed to need a lot more restocking than it was getting; the attendant, while helpful and friendly, didn't seem to anticipate people's needs (if you're refilling the coffee creamers, you should check to make sure there's enough sugars too and save yourself a trip). Also their coffee is a little too bitter, maybe an attempt to emulate Starbucks or something but I wasn't a big fan.

This is a no-restaurant, no-room-service type hotel and it's kind of out in the sticks so if your arrival puts you there past dinner time, you may want to stop on your way and get some dinner. There's very few choices that we saw open past 8pm or so.

All in all, a very nice stay and we'll be glad to visit again if we're back in that area!

I happened on this hotel by sheer chance on a recent business trip and I was pleasantly surprised by the European - Scandinavian style design of the room and its furnishings and features which included stylish modern lighting fixtures, sliding doors with frosted glass windows for the separated bath, one room with the shower and vanity with large wall mounted mirror and the second with the commode and pedestal sink. The shower is a spacious walk-in shower with a glass front with a large glass door secured with stainless steel hinges. The shower assembly features two small hard plastic adjustable spray nozzles that can be angled to massage your lower back and these supplement the large adjustable shower head.

The room includes an extended couch, a desk area with lamp, phone and computer connections topped with frosted glass panels, the middles of which slides and can be open or fully closed, and this serves to provide separation of the sleeping area from the seating area; adjacent to the couch and coffee table is a floor to ceiling wooden shelved cabinet holding a small room sized refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee maker; there is a 42" flat screen television on a wooden cabinet along the wall between the bed and seating areas of the room; there is a large wooden cabinet with mirrored front that contained two drawers and space for hanging clothes; and a slatted wooden bench with steel leg supports placed over the top of the thru-the-wall HVAC unit.

Finally, there was also a comfortable bed with many pillows and LED reading lights on flexible extensions from the headboard on both sides; nice wall art pieces and attractive flooring treatments throughout.

The service was friendly and professional and the entire place was clean and neat. It is a very new hotel having only opened in October of this year. There is an exercise room with 3 or 4 treadmills and/or elliptical machines, an adjacent jacuzzi room and there is a full service bar in the lobby for evening use and a well stocked breakfast bar provided in the AM along with plenty of seating in the lobby and breakfast bar areas.

I loved this place and I will definitely stay here again! I am also recommending it to my friends for when they travel to the Harrisburg/Hershey area in the future.

We were a group of 12 and were all impressed with the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the free breakfast was bountiful and was constantly stocked during the breakfast hours. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The pool is a lot smaller than in appears in the picture and goes from 3ft to 4 1/2 feet but with young kids even that's a plus. I would def. stay here again.
