“Outstanding Service”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

The staff was especially friendly and understanding when a problem came up. It is not always the case that people go out of there way to help out, but the staff at the Hampton Inn did so. They were polite, efficient and well-organized. Two thumbs up!

The girl at checkin (sorry, did not get her name) was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. We didn't use the pool or venture out, as we spent the whole night in our room watching the Olympics opening ceremony.

Beds were comfy!

Breakfast was nice and well staffed. Shirley was very sweet, and added a very nice touch to our stay. She mentioned that the hotel will be remodelling beginning 7/30. I would agree that some nice updating would do wonders for the overall appearance. Once that happens, this hotel will be really awesome!!

Only about 15 minutes to Gettysburg - we chose this location to save a little money over the Gettysburg hotels.

Hanover is also where the pretzel company Snyders of Hanover is located. Wish we had time for a tour of the factory.

Stayed at this hotel on July 14, 2012. First hotel I ever stayed at that the group I was with was yelled at not once but twice by hotel staff because we had snacks (pretzels and chips) as well as drinks (not in bottles but in plastic cups) by the pool. We were yelled at and treated poorly be hotel staff that we had to put all food away and if we wanted to eat or drink we had to go sit outside. We are mature responsible adults we were just sitting at a table by the pool talking about our day. We were not drunk nor were we rowdy we were just trying to have a pleasant night at the pool. Hotel staffer ruined our night. So don't stay here if you want to have a relaxing time around the pool after abuts day.

Dear Guest,

I am sorry to hear you were un-happy with the way the incident was handled by my team. We take customer service very seriously but not as important as safety concerns. Having food and drink in the pool area is a directly violation of the PA State safety guidelines for a public pools, as stated on the sign hanging on the wall next to the pool. For this reason we took the incident very seriously for everyone's safety. I am again sorry this upset you.

I understand that we did invoke the Hampton Inn 100% guarantee and took your rooms night and tax off your bill. I am sorry this was not an acceptable resolution to the problem you experienced. I will talk with my team about how to handle a situation like this, but according to the law we had to address this. We will also look at further groups like this to see if we are the right fit for these groups.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Costello

We stayed at this hotel for two nights while visiting Gettysburg. We were awoken at 2am from our neighbors "adult noises" that sounded like it was in our room. Upon further inspection, we located a large gap in the ceiling in our room that went directly into the neighboring room. We could hear every word & sound! We went downstairs and explained the situation to the front desk manager, Brian. He was AWESOME. He was professional and immediately had us moved to a different room. He apologized repeatedly, even though the 'noise' wasn't his problem. And, said he'd report the ceiling gap to maintenance. He handled the situation very well.

Our second room was awesome--quiet, clean, comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is really good and Shirley coming around with mints was a nice addition. The second morning they were quite busy and the lady making the food (not Shirley) was very snippy towards us when we mentioned they were out of forks. Thought we were helping her by mentioning we took the last fork, but clearly she doesn't work well under pressure.

Great hotel to stay at if you're visiting Gettysburg, as it's only about 15 minutes away and away from the chaos that is in Gettysburg.

Clean hotel, close to shopping and restaurants. Very friendly staff -- loved Shirley who came around at breakfast offering breath mints. Good breakfast with hot items and typical continental items. Brought out an extra table and toaster when busier.
