We lovdr this place when it was Overboards years ago. It went through several changes, none of which was worth the money or the time. So we were excited a while ago to learn that the original proprietor was bringing back the original Overboards. What a disappointment. A combination of badly conceived dishes and either poor cooking or reliance on frozen, pre-made food just made for a bad meal. Steamers were full of sand. The calamari, which was, itself, excellent, was served with some unidentified sauce. My guess: a mignonette that was excessively spicy. But it just did not go with the calamari. Similarly, the fish and chips were served with wasabi mustard (which pretty much tasted like spicy mustard from the local mini-mart). Not a well-thought out pairing. Didn't matter since the fish was pure mush. Not the least bit of texture. Chicken parmagiana was so thick that it was difficult to cut. No crisp crusting. Pasta was as mushy as the fish. There really is a shortage of good places to eat on the lake, but, unless you're desperate, skip this one. (Besides they have no beer on tap!)
