“One of the best italian restaurants in the Harrisburg area”
Reviewed September 1, 2011

Fabio's is a small italian restaurant that is located within an old barn that has been very nicely restored and updated. They do not accept reservations so you may have a wait for a table, especially on weekends. It is well worth the wait. They also have pizza and subs available for takeout and it is BYOB. We will be back the next time we are in the area.

“Excellent Staff, Poor Food”
Reviewed August 31, 2011

Everyone here is so very friendly, and the owner's little daughter was out in the dining room when we were there, she is so cute! The staff is amazingly friendly, but sadly, the food does not live up to the staff. It's just bland, not much flavor to it at all. It's not so much that it's bad tasting, as that it has no taste.

“Good white pie”

We got it take-out. Good pizza. BTW, it's BYOB here -- no beer on tap or in bottles.

“Okay... if you like Chef Boy-ar-dee!”
Reviewed August 10, 2011

We had high hopes for this restaurant as our first impressions were very favorable. It is located in an old barn which has been very imaginatively turned into a restaurant. It is lovely inside, the menu is extensive, and prices are moderate. The first thing the waitress brought us was iced tea, which tasted kind of funny. However, on a 5 day Hershey/Harrisburg trip, we did not have one good glass of iced tea, so we chalked this up as just a local quirk. Then she brought the garlic bread and salads and both were very good. My salad had a homemade Zinfandel dressing that I really enjoyed. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Everything was looking good...and then she brought the main dishes. Three of us ordered lasagna and one of us ordered chicken fettucine alfredo. I don't think I have ever tasted worse lasagna. I swear it was Great Value frozen lasagna with some extra cheese on top. The sauce was orange - not red. It tasted and looked just like Chef Boy-ar-dee. The sad thing was, it looked so good. It was served in individual ramekins with broiled cheese on top and the serving was generous. If it had only been edible. I didn't taste the fettucine but my son said it was, "meh." Perhaps the non-Italian dishes would be better, but it is supposed be an Italian restaurant. There also seemed to be a problem with flies in this whole area. We weren't bothered with them at our table but I did see several buzzing around the restaurant. All I can say is, if you insist on trying this place, do yourself a favor and do not order the lasagna!

“Excellent!”

We live in the area and go frequently. Can't find a better value; portions are large(we always have another meal at home) and delicious. Service is good and we get to take our own wine, too.
