“Cant please everyone!!”
Reviewed July 1, 2010

Some people leave negative reviews for the WRONG reasons!! I stayed here with a few of my sisters and children for 3 nights. The Hotel is kind of "in the middle of nowhere" Its very quiet here. .I have to start out by saying I was a bit disappointed the slide was "out of order". Apparently, someone very over weight broke it and a part had to be ordered. The kids were looking forward to it. Oh well! The basketball and miniature Golf were a big hit. It was FREE!! The pool was small, like most indoor pools are but ,they had alot of fun anyway. The most important thing to me is cleanliness. I found the Hotel to be very clean. The rooms were large and were equiped with a pull out sofa bed, a full size refrigerator, electric stove, sink, microwave and a coffee pot. Very convienent!! The breakfast was good ., Waffles, bagels, danish ,rolls, toast , sausage and scrambled eggs. Juice, milk, tea and coffee were available all day. The lines were long to toast bagels, waffles but since each room had a toaster in it, I would take it back to my room and toast it their. The staff were very accomodating. If I needed extra towels, shampoo it was not a problem. They only change bed sheets every 3 days (due to the Green act) but if you request it , not a problem. Also ,the internet worked great for me!!
The restaurant ,Fabios across the street was really good and reasonable. . The Chinese Restaurant the Hotel recommended for delivery was good too ( I am very fussy when it comes to Chinese food) Hershey was about 5 miles away. Very easy to get too. Overall we had a pleasant stay and I dont normally leave such long reviews but, I felt is was necessary. I would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family in the future.

Our reservation asked for a nonsmoking room but was told upon arrival that non-smoking rooms cost more and I would have to pay another $20. Slide was broken and they didn't offer to let us know that when we booked. Kids enjoyed the putt putt and basketball. spill spots and dirt in areas. Why not have someone walking around to clean this up when you know there are kids everywhere and accidents happen?

Stayed with a group of friends and our children for a weekend trip to Hershey. While there also was a large soccer tournament going on in the area, and the hotel was sold out, I do not believe any of this affected the quality of our stay.

The location is very convenient to Hershey, about 10 minutes away. The room was clean, bed and pillows comfortable. Convenient kitchenette area with refrigerator, cooktop and microwave. Plenty of parking and a decent continental breakfast area (except for the scrambled "eggs"). That is where the good ends.

There were many strange little things about this place that made you question just what type of a hotel/motel it is trying to be. Decor bland, drab, dim and boring. Bills itself as an extended stay hotel, yet the trash cans in the room can barely fit an empty soda can. No housekeeping!! Just a change of towels, garbage emptied nothing else! One of the kids splashed soda on the "wood" entry floor of the room and it never was mopped (except what we tried to clean up with towels) and remained sticky throughout our stay. Regarding the change of towels, at check in we had 4 towels in the room that we used (2 children, 1 adult) the first night for showers. All the other days, we only recieved 2 towels in return and needed to go to the front desk to request more. When at the front desk one night, there were 3 other people there looking for towels. One bar of soap in room. Front desk worker (seemed like there was only one person on duty at all times) very pleasant, but seemed overwhelmed. Tried calling the desk twice (towels and pool closing times) and never got an answer. The one elevator was out of service 3 separate times over the weekend. The water fountains spewed water into the middle of the hallway when turned on, yet remained in use the whole time, a "wet floor" sign apparently the corrective action. The business center is nothing more than a formica shelf mounted to the wall next to the elevator directly across from the water fountain and next to the front desk. There is no privacy, and couldn't be in a busier spot in the hotel. There were 2 computers, but only one in operation. NO printer. If you needed to print something, you needed to e-mail it to the front desk and they would print it for you. NO KIDDING! Again, it bills itself as an extended stay hotel, yet there is no desk in the room to work at, just a small table in the kitchen area, and obviously the business center is not meant to do more than look up e-mail. The pool area was small, very loud and the slide was closed on the last day of our stay. The basketball court, arcade and mini golf were on the 2nd floor. The pounding of the bouncing basketballs could be heard in the pool area below and hallways above. As for the basketball area itself, it seems unfinished, just plywood walls with construction chalk markings for covering. There is no automatic checkout, and when we were checking out, there was a 10 minute wait on line. This was very strange as it has been years since I actually had to go to the front desk, wait and checkout. One positive, a previous poster stated there was a garbage strewn area outside the hotel. We sat at the picnic tables on the deck off the breakfast area, and it overlooked an empty lot, but no garbage noticed. Also the Italian restaurant, Fabio's, nearby had very quick delivery to the room. While the pizza certainly wasn't the best i've ever eaten, it certainly was edible. The prices were good, and delivery very quick.

Overall, we had a decent stay. The most important thing I look for in a hotel/motel is cleanliness, and the rooms were clean. The strangeness of the lack of housekeeping, the lack of towels, 1 bar of soap, the joke of a business center, the decor, lead me to think of this as a very cheap type motel, yet the prices (150.00+ per night) were anything but. I think I would try elsewhere before returning to this motel.

We stayed at this hotel overnight the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, and booked it on short notice(Wednesday with only 2 days from check-in) using an Entertainment book discount. The location is just off I81 & our intentions were arriving the night before for an early day at Hersheypark which is about a 5-mile (pleasant) drive down the road. The front desk staff was helpful & friendly and check-in was quick and painless. This is not the usual brand hotel we stay at and we noticed difference in the finish--the paint job was drippy, the ceramic tile was cracked, the bedding was just average, and decor was plain & minimal--however our room was adequately furnished & areas we visited were clean and well kept. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool w/waterslide though it seems this area needs more lighting. The indoor mini-golf was basic but also something to keep ourselves busy on a rainy night. Somebody really needs to peel the stickers off all the windows though, why these remain makes me leery of what other small details they may be overlooking? The free breakfast was a bonus, but the area was very crowded. They could use more fruit selection(only had apples during our visit) and perhaps some yogurt or cottage cheese(some protein other than egg). One of the milk & juice selections were empty but it was still free. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but just across the parking lot was an Italian place(Fabio's, which we enjoyed for dinner). Hotel parking was good and from the front it looks really nice; my biggest complaint was the view from our room & other windows at the rear of the hotel--construction waste, litter, and a sewage pit amongst tall weeds--very disappointing and really should be addressed. They didn't have automatic checkout, we had to wait at the front desk upon exit but again it was quick & painless. We didn't love the place, but we didn't hate it... we're just feeling kinda neutral I suppose. It was a good night's sleep at a reasonable price, convenient to our destination, so we'd probably stay again & recommend.

We stayed here during Memorial Day Weekend. The hotel was approximately 8 miles from Hershey Park. The staff was nice and the room was perfect for our needs. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs and helped us save money because we didn't have to eat out ever meal. The free breakfast was average. The kids loved the pool and the free minature golf course which was located in the hotel.

We traveled with our two year old and this was the greatest place to stay. It was convient as far as the kitchen, the pool and the game room. The ride to Hershey park was about 10 minutes (not bad at all). The staff was sooooo friendly and acomidating. The rooms were brand new. We got our money worth plus some!! We paid $75.00 a night and it was so well worth it.

We hope to go back to Hershey in September and will definalty stay there!!
