We took a chance and booked a room at After Eight B&B after finding it on the PA Dutch Country website. We were pleased to find it a charming spot, that was conveniently located to EVERYTHING in the area that we wanted to do. Robert was a fantastic host, very knowledgeable of the area and sure knows what he is doing. He was kind enough to mark up a map with suggestions of where and what, and his breakfasts were top notch - we were stuffed all day! The inn itself is beautiful, and the rooms are spotless and comfortable. Such a nice touch too that there are cold and hot drinks as well as snacks and kitchen items such as glasses, plates, etc. available at all times. The view from the back porch of the home looks out onto an Amish Farm - what a picturesque spot. We would go back in a second, and would highly reccomend the After Eight B&B to everyone.

Room Tip: We stayed int he Sunrise Bay Window Room - nice and sunny with lots of windows and very spacious. Nice view out of the back windows on the backyard and neighboring farm.

After Eight has become, for us, a home away from home. Because of Robert's attention to details, immaculate rooms, including the common areas and being a great host, we have stayed in excess of 35 times!

Robert is very knowledgeable about the area and is always more than happy to help you make your stay a pleasant one. He will give you plenty of suggestions of things to do and see and will recommond great places to eat.

The B&B resides close to theaters, shopping and restaurants. When you are there, however, you are transported into a serene countryside scenery in a relaxing atmosphere.

Robert's breakfasts are amazing even though he isn't a chef, he has mastered this art as well as his dry sense of humor. You will wake up each morning to a mouth-watering breakfast to start your day.

We have even booked the whole B&B for a special occasion with family and friends. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much we did it again the following year. This is testament enough that the After Eight is a special place to stay in Lancaster County. So what are you waiting for? Book a stay at the After Eght and I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed!!! Donna D.

The Bed and Breakfast is located in beautiful Lancaster county near many tourist attractions and restaurants. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless, and comfortable as were the common rooms. The Innkeeper, Robert, went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He knows the area well and can make recommendations about where to go and eat. Breakfast was delicious (Robert even shared his recipe). We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Lots of rooms to choose from

I stayed at the B&B on my trip to PA Dutch country. It was conveniently located - on the highway but very quiet. The room was tastefully done - I was very pleased with it. The bathroom was small but really clean. The B&B had a beautiful garden, though the porch was very small. And strangely it had a fully decorated Christmas tree in the living room in July... not quite sure what that was about.

The innkeeper was pleasant but distant. He provided a lot of helpful information on places that I could explore within a 5 to 10 mile radius. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that the B&B had free wifi!!!! A definite bonus!

The food was just amazing!!! The breakfast was delicious - we had French toast one day and a spinach quiche the next and OMG it was awesome.... just amazing delicious. And the mint chocolate cookies in the evening were to die for.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

I was exploring Amish country without a car and the location was decent. It was little expensive (around 25-30 dollars) to get here from the Lancaster train station by taxi. But the B&B is about 5 miles from Strausburg and the Kitchen Kettle village - both places I wanted to explore. In hindsight, I should have stayed at the kitchen Kettle village which is also serviced by the local bus service - the walks would have been less tiring :)

Room Tip: The B&B is on the interstate - so choose a room that faces the back or the garden. Could get noisy otherwise.

This bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations in every way! Robert is so warm and funny - you'll feel like he's an old friend whom you've known forever within the first few minutes!

These rooms were IMMACULATE - and I'm very picky about that sort of thing. And ladies, the mirrors and lighting in the baths are just PERFECT for applying make-up and getting hair done. An absolute pleasure in that department, making the stay as totally convenient as if one were at home.

The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and Robert will go out of his way to accomodate special diets. I'm a vegetarian, and I was extremely well taken care of!

Unfortunately, due to the storm in NJ, we had to leave very early and did not have the time to hang out much on our last day and give a proper goodbye. But rest assured, we will be back and we can't wait! Thanks for everything Robert!!
